We have definitely lost the league.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Stealthy(m): 11:50pm On Jan 28, 2012
Uninspiring draw! There were too many defensive players at the start of the match, we offered no serious threat until late in the 2nd half.

The league is gone. Madrid are too good & too hungry to drop any serious points.

We should just concentrate on retaining the champions league & winning the copa.

The real irony is, we practically handed over the league to Madrid this term. undecided

Ah, well. Life goes on. Let's focus on the remaining competitions, and try to at least finish up in second.
Other teams will now start to fancy their chances.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Stealthy(m): 12:19am On Jan 29, 2012
Looks like we need to strengthen the squad (look for some cheap bargains) or use the B-team boys more often (again, I wish Soriano was promoted to replace Villa temporarily).

The matches are coming thick & fast now and the fixtures aren't easy. We play Valencia at the mestalla midweek, then stubborn Sociedad, then Valencia in Nou Camp, then away to Osasuna, then away to Leverkusen in UCL. That's over 1 month of playing midweek matches! Our thin squad can hardly cope

Messi needs a rest and should be removed when we have healthy leads in league games (whether he wants to come off or not).

Iniesta should be back in 2 weeks and Keita should also return from nations cup next week.

I think the league is gone. We put up a lacklustre performance this day. Tello's introduction could have got us a goal but all is still well. I hope Pep starts using that boy than Cuenca. He is more skillful.
I hope the players can pick themselves up and continue the struggle in other competitions including the league of course.
Visca el Barca!!!

Yeah, I don't mind losing the league to Madrid, so much as having such a big point that at this stage - we have made it really easy for Madrid. I doubt if Valencia can really challenge us for 2nd place - they have EL to worry about and Valencia is too inconsistent to make La Liga more than a 2-horse race.

I like your optimism, but we look more likely than Madrid to drop points. Our away form has been atrocious this season, mainly due to Pep's many formation changes - the guys looked confused in the 1st half. Experimenting with 3-4-3 in the away matches only worked against Madrid (interestingly). Plus the squad is simply tired. We over-used Messi & the other key stars in the big home wins (eg copa against Osasuna) and now that we need them to give extra, they're drained.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ogazi007(m): 12:55am On Jan 29, 2012
Its over.i have stop dreaming.Madrid had shown consistency this season hence they deserved the tittle better than any other team in laliga.injuries to key players aside, our away record this season is unimaginably poor,we have dropped 11 points and the season is barely halfway.if we continue this way they might as well handed over the league tittle to madrid in march.i really do not know what pep was trying to achieved by playing two defensive midfielders against a struggling villareal side that looks so disorganised in defence prior to this encounter.we played with only one striker and we lack the creativity in the midfield to trouble them in the beginning of the game, they became more organized as we have refused to attacked them.Xavi had a very bad game but he was atleast better than Cesc and Andriano that were looking exhusted and clueless.the Tello boy did better than half of our team combined in less than 15mins he lasted.i hope we experiment more often with some of the barca B bois,we do not have anything to lose the league is beyound our reach now,its for madrid to win or lose it. we need to manage our tiny squad rotate the big boys with the upcoming pla yers  to have the desired rest and keep everyone fit for heads to roll in CL cos that is the only way to finish this season with some respect.GOD bless pep,GOD bless Barca.we are the best.

Barca will still win the LA LIGA . . .

Messi will still be the highest goalscorer . . .

Pinto will be named best goalkeeper at the end of the season . . .

Villa would be proclaimed the most prolific striker in La Liga . . . .

Mourinho will be sacked by December 2011 grin

CRONalso cant score against big teams, HE ALWAYS FREEZES!

Real Madrid cant play anything than the ultra-defensive style . . . .

What more rubbish do y'all have to say?

yeye people!!! grin

Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by medjai(m): 7:35am On Jan 29, 2012
The league is most definitely lost. No jazz on earth could make us win the league.

Pep got his tactics wrong in this one. How are you going to score with 7 defensive players, a deep lying central midfielder and a goal keeper on the pitch? What was the point of Adriano upfront? He's a good crosser but we never have bodies in the box with Messi dropping deep (and not being the tallest around). A genuine forward player like Tello caused the most problems for Villarreal in the whole match, despite only being on for 15 minutes. Pep talks a lot about "being bold", but that lineup wasn't bold at all. Cuenca and Tello upfront + Thiago instead of Mascherano in midfield would have been bold.

I am always shaking when we dont have Iniesta in our starting line up.i wish him quick recovery.pep and the bois have given us everything in less than 4 years, what more can we ask for?they are all human afterall.i dont want the fans to put pressure on pep and the team,we need to show our loyality and support to them.i am still positive we can finish this season with 2 trophies.
@Eyo!you are always the last man standing but really i do not share your sentiment at this point in time.we need to concentrate on CL and kings cup period.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ritchboy(m): 1:01pm On Jan 29, 2012
Why so gloomy? Madrid still have to come to Camp Nou, a win for Barca reduces the deficit to 4 points, which can be made up in as little as two games.

Having said that Real are obviously the favorites now cos apart from the lead they look more menacing away from home. Barca's injury list isn't helping matters either.

AjanleKoko:

We have definitely lost the league.

that is the annoying thing about the league sometimes.

everyone knows team a is definitely better than team b but team b knows how to beat the remaining teams more than team a.
reminds me of the premier league season of 08/09. liverpool were so much better as a team. they took 6 points off man utd with a humilating 4-1 defeat at old trafford but liverpool couldn't beat wigan, stoke and some other shitty teams that united murdered with obscene score-lines

in the end, united won the league by 4 points!
i know 3 points from those 7 can be taken when real madrid come to nou camp but then 4 points difference might just win it for madrid.
if anyone knows jose mourinho, he does not joke with league games. he does not compromise - he does not mind using the same starting xi for 60 odd games.

it is what sets him apart from alex ferguson, wenger, and most managers who rests players because of sentiments, emotions or whatever.
mourinho is all about himself and results. nothing else matters. so if ronaldo feels he would get a rest because his girlfriend has just put to bed, then he should think again. guardiola would actually rest such player. fergie would too and wenger would rest other 3 players to escort van persie to the hospital.

mourinho wouldn't and this is why he's so successful. he takes no prisoners!
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Nobody: 5:10pm On Jan 29, 2012
Mou should be thankful injury has not struck his team b/c if it does, he will be forced to rest them, though i am not wishing his team injury just because we need pts.

i am not talking about injuries here. . . .i am talking about managers resting players who are not injured.
when a player is injured, he's injured. . . .but many atimes, you see managers resting players for the fun of it in big matches. i think that's sheer irresponsibility.
fergie does it all the time, same as wenger and many other managers. . . .pep still keeps the core of his team but mourinho plays his fit players every time.
i really believe that is how it should be.

You make me laugh, does lagging by 7pts hurt that bad? Till now where was Carvalho? ATM, Di Maria & Khedira? Through all this, Coentrao has played at RB and CM, Ramos now a CB, Altintop RB, Lass RB, Benzema RW. . .name it. Blaming Injuries for bad away form is no excuse, thats why you've got a Manager and a "B" team.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ImperialMcHael(m): 9:02am On Jan 30, 2012
Iniesta out and barca draws two straight matches it makes one wonder what would happen if Messi picks an injury.
Or can we say Cesc brought this nemesis along from arsenal?

I won't be sad if they win the league. We have won it back-to-back. Will only be sad if we lose The Champions League. Maybe Pep should use only Team-B for our remaining Home League Matches while we focus on Champions League and Copa Del-Ray

I wonder why the worry. . . . .you guys stand a far better chance of winning La Liga than UTD or even City does in the EPL!

I still think Barca will nick it. . . . .Madrid appear to be ruthless, but I guess when you are winning nobody sees the negatives. Constantly having to fight back from behind is hardly a good sign. Games will come when the 'fight back' will just not be enough!!!

18 more games in La Liga.

The issue is not Madrid dropping points. The issue is Barca losing more ground, dropping more points. That even looks more likely to happen.

Exactly 54 points still up for grabs. . . . its all in the mind for me, FCB players just need a jolt and I think they get message now.

the fight back = mental strength.
stuff of champions. . .

it's difficult to win 4 in a row like united found out in 09/10 season. . . .
the truth is no team can dominate for more than 3 seasons in a competitive league. . . .after 3 seasons, the players tire out, they become less hungry, less ambitious. it's very difficult.
