Bentley rekindling its luxury coachmaker, Bentley Mulliner, in manufacturing Bentley Bacalar for twelve of its top customers. The 12 Bentley Mulliner Bacalar created are uniquely specified by each customers and Bentley Mulliner team. Bentley works with their customers as they choose the exterior outlook of their car. Bacalar is designed, engineered and handcrafted by the coachbuilder, Bentley Mulliner division- the oldest coachbuilding company in the world.
The $1.9 million speedster, Bentley Mulliner Bacalar is sold out already, so hold your breath if you intend buying one in time to come. Under the bonnet is a 6L twin-turbocharged W12 engine blistering 650 hp weighing 667lb-ft of torque mated with 8-speed automatic transmission controlling all wheels. Bacalar blisters from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds reaching top speed of 200 mph.
The interior of Bentley Bacalar, is built by Mulliner that the 12 are distinctively different from the owner as they follow the uniqueness of each customers. The dashboard is made of a 500 year old wood, the details found in the Bacalar has never been seen of any other Bentley. 148,199 stitches are done to decorate Bacalar on each seats. The coachbuilt cockpit meant for two integrates a ‘wraparound’ that flows from the centre console through to the the dashboard into the doors as leather straps the door. Bentley Bacalar is not built for speed first of, the grand tourer remains a luxury brand, the Bacalar is a luxury car especially with its open top that don’t close. Behind the Bacalar seats is a room for two bags that is made by Italian luxury bag maker Schedoni.
