Sultan Of Sokoto Condemns Killing Of Muslims In Jos by damilola4162(m): 2:58pm On Aug 15, 2021
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III has condemned in strong terms the killing of a group of innocent Muslims who were returning from Bauchi to Akure, Ondo State, on Saturday, Newspremises reports.

The Sultan, in a statement on Sunday by the Director of Administration, NSCIA, Arc. Zubairu Haruna Usman-ugwu, indicated that while affirming the statements of their excellencies, the governors of Plateau and Ondo states, that it was a case of mistaken identity and not particularly intended for the Muslims.

The council appealed to all Muslims to be calm and nobody should take laws into his or her hands.

The statement noted that the council has re-emphasised that no human life deserves to be wasted on any ground be it religious or ethnic.

In the spirit of the Islamic injunction, the Supreme Council quoted Qur’an 49:6 as saying, “O you who have believed! If some transgressors bring you news (that requires taking action), verify it carefully (before you believe and act upon it), lest you harm a people in ignorance and then become regretful for what you have done”.

The Sultan, in the statement, re-assured all peace-loving individuals and groups that appropriate actions would be taken subsequent to a thorough investigation.

In the meantime, as efforts are on to locate the eight missing Muslims, the council urged security agencies to fish out all the perpetrators of the dastardly acts and ensure that adequate justice is done.

The council, however, commiserated with all Muslims, particularly Sheikh Dahiru Banchi, the host of the religious event from which the victims were returning, while praying that Almighty Allah heals the wounded and grant al-Jannah to the departed martyrs.

If there's one thing about these guys that I expect the Christians to emulate is there penchant to keep all ethnic sentiments aside and defend there own.
I won't be surprised if other Christian dominant tribes in Plateau look away when an innocent wrigwe youth is tortured

Will Nigeria ever evolve beyond ethno-religious crisis?

It has even gone to the extent of first determining the tribe and religion of the victims before commiserating or rejoicing as we have seen lately.

This is becoming a chain reaction that shouldn't have been allowed to start at all. It will require a truly patriotic, unifying and committed leader to bring this to a halt.

These senseless killings from both ends are condemnable.

Killing of Muslims...

This same hypocrisy we've been engaging in is why killings like that might not end on time. Until we start hearing headlines like "killings of pilgrims or travellers" instead of identifying people by their faith, tribe and political affiliation.

The same thing goes with the Western world and it's quest to be rid of racism. We should recognize humans as humans first before thinking of colour, faith, sex etc.

He said nothing when Fulanis attacked peaceful villagers and killed them for no reason.

But I want peace all over Nigeria, enough of this madness.

I will keep on blaming Nigerian politicians for all this nonsense.

So the Christians killed by the Fulani Muslims are not human beings. Sultan and his fellow old men are those who brought us to this level. You don't criticize when it affects others, but only when your primordial interest is involve.

That’s because we are not one Nigeria... Let’s continue deceiving ourselves with faking UNITY. It’s not a curse, country like Nigeria can’t know peace or progress. Except we tell ourselves the plain truth either by starting with restructuring.

If Buhari should leave that seat of power, and it get to a southerner.. what is befall Fulanis will be massive, your guess is good as mine.

And there will be more hatred, aggrieved that will lead to non peaceful and progressing Nigeria.

I think it's high time the media start tagging 'herdsmen killings' as 'Muslim killings'.

a Christian does not kill and any Christian who does is doing for his own selfish interest and he will surely burn in hell.

may the souls of all the affected rest in peace.
