President Muhammad Buhari and Chief Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) ruling party, were spotted recently, in a ‘supposed’ crucial health mission in London.

The London health-related mission, has raised a lot of dust, particularly on social media.

It is sad and unfortunate that, the nation’s health system is distraught, with distressed doctors and dilapidated facilities, while the leaders continue to patronize foreign hospitals.

Nigeria’s health sector is calamitous to say the least. It calls for urgent rescue.

Little wonder, that the nation’s political leaders and their acolytes, regularly patronize the best hospitals across the world.

What then is the fate of the common man and the suffering masses, whose taxes are used in funding these incalculable medical bills of the political elite.

The failure to revamp the comatose health system, has led to high prevalence of preventable diseases, malnutrition, stunted growth, poor demographics, job losses, low life expectancy, rising mortalities and morbidities, across the country.

No doubt Nigeria needs a new set of selfless leaders, who will prioritize the health and welfare of ordinary citizens, as articulated by the 2030 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).

Health rights are integral to human rights. Keep demanding for your health rights. It is an alienable right to life. Use your vote to secure your health and human rights.
