I am making a list of remarkable cultural practices I have heard of. Please add yours. I will start with this one: Sharo is a practice of the Fulanis in Northern Nigeria where a young man is flogged to prove he is capable of enduring pain and can manage his own family. During the flogging, which is usually held in public, the young man is not supposed to show any sign of pain. I dont really have all the details. Please tell us more if you know of this practice. |
