14 ATTACKED, 1 KILLED IN JOS

Report reaching us of 14 passengers, (including some residents of Tudun Wada Jos) who were attacked at the early hours of Sunday 15 August, 2021, while on transit to Bauchi State.

On a visit to one of the survivor's residence, Tudun Wada Broadcast gathered that, 14 persons were attacked on their way while heading to Federal Polytechnic Bauchi for the graduation and send forth prayer of a daughter and family friend, in a 14-seater-bus.

In her statement, she disclosed that at about 1000hrs, around Farin Gada area, the attackers in their numbers barricaded the access road and were searching every vehicle passing that route. The passengers panicked on seeing what the people were holding, and asked the driver to reverse but he couldn't because of the barricade behind.

Almost immediately, some people from the crowd violently attacked their bus with knives, swords and stones, broke the glasses and dragged one of the passengers out through the window, who apparently happened to be the only young man in the car amidst elderly men. He was identified as Fwangmun Stephen Yakut, popularly known as ‘Bloss’, an Accounting student in the Plateau State Polytechnic.

The driver and 5 others sustained injuries on their bodies from sharp cuts and stabs. The driver managed to escape and informed the area Vigilante who in turn informed security agencies.

She recounted that the attackers poured fuel all over the bus alongside chanting “Arna, su arne ne”; as they try to set the bus ablaze, security personnel arrived and rescued them. While being conveyed to the hospital for medical attention, they realized that the passenger dragged out of the window was nowhere to be found. “We started looking and found him laying lifeless in a farm" She added.
