Selfish people .

Why are they not fighting through NMA and NLC ?

Doctor might be poorly paid when compared to some of their colleagues outside, just like every other technical jobs,in Nigeria they are the highest paid public servant occupation.

In engineering, when the public sector is not paying well,we move to private sector and make all the money we want .why are doctors scrambling for public sector job and rejecting private sector jobs ?

Reasons why Resident doctors (NARD) hardly achieve anything when they go on strike.
1. They are not a labour group, resident doctors under the aegis of National Association of Resident Doctors are not members of any Labour Union, neither Trade Union Council nor Nigerian Labour Congress, hence they lack the negotiating powers of a trade union and the larger labour unions don't help them in solidarity during impasse or industrial actions.
2. They are under tutelage and not really major employees of federal government unlike consultants, NARD consists of doctors that are undergoing a learning process called residency towards becoming consultants in various medical fields (though they are the ones that do most medical jobs in Nigerian hospitals), this was what the labour minister Dr. Chris Ngige used against them the last time they went on strike, he simply told CMDs that the students have abandoned their schooling and they should find other students to take up the learning process. Fashola also did same during one of their numerous strikes in Lagos, he simply called for intake of new residents and they quickly returned to work.
3. For reasons I don't understand, their consultants do not support them.

You only understand what you think you know. Resident doctors are doctors not up to principal level, including those on consult training.

So, the next time you hear resident doctors just subtract the consultant, chief and principal. All others are resident doctors.

Doctors are running to Saudi

The salary of a Consultant Doctor in Saudi is #6million Naira equivalent of Nigerian money .

While a Professor of Surgeon in Nigeria earns #435,000 a month in Nigeria .....

The same selfish minds in govt today are making sure that their children are all trained as Doctors outside Nigeria and they are working outside Nigeria as well.....

Who is fooling who??

I only stated verifiable facts without prejudice, doctors in Nigeria are one of the lowest paid in the whole world, I'm only saying why they have not been achieving their aims with incessant strikes and if you read what I wrote very well, you will see no antagonism.
BTW, are you one of those suffering from superiority complex?
It has nothing to do with superiority complex. Most of your claims are false

Problem nor dey finished for this country.

Nigerians have refused to trust our health Care Delivery Leaders and Dr Ngige and his counterparts in the Healthcare should do more than talking. Sometimes you wander why they behave strangely to the needs of their colleagues, just because they are holding Polical posts! They should know that Polical post is for a while but what impact you made will be remembered for life!
While a Professor or Consultant in Medicine that goes to Saudi Arabia will earn N6.5Millon a month, the same Consultant or Professor will earn N462,000 in Nigeria. So who wants stay to work for our beloved Country!
Why can't we just face reality for once!
Remember too during Covid-19 stages that Chinese Medical Personnel came to Nigeria and up till today, Nigerians are yet to know their duty and whereabouts.
Na wa for our leaders!

My brother, your reply deserves an award. Sometimes when I see doctors strike, I just feel like it's karma for their show of superiority over Johesu or other health workers. Health workers in a way have learnt to abase and abound grin. Doctors have been taught to become things they are not. That's why there shoulders are so high yet they don't have anything.
May God help them sha grin grin grin

Read your statements again...you think if Dr goes on strike, they're affected more than the communities they serve?

Loool, you are only one peritonitis to being dead if Drs are on strike. And that is happening! Keep grinning in your stupidity

NARD just like the NMA are professional bodies but can negotiate with Government on behalf of medical doctors. In terms of negotiations, they've have achieved more in terms of collective bargaining than ASUU, JOHESU & even the NLC/TUC.

Residents are doctors undergoing specialist training & not students. There are on strike to fight for better healthcare services & improved welfare of doctors. All the doctors including the medical consultants (specialists) support NARD.
