Lagos State has successfully carved a niche for itself amongst the league of States in Nigeria as an economic giant, and not just within Nigeria alone, in West Africa, Lagos State has continued to give much reasons why many can term it an emerging economy base. In many ways it has successfully lived up to it's slogan, "The Center of Excellence"

No wonder the State has become an home to many individuals from across the rest of the federation, it's no gainsaying to posit that every citizen from every other states is present in Lagos and this is not just because the State has enough land mass for everyone, far be it, Lagos State has continued to see many rate it high, becoming a home of sort for everyone because it has system which gives room for everyone to thrive and grow.

The last few years has seen the state grow tremendously, the inception of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration in Lagos State has successfully given the State a new and better outlook; while businesses has continued to thrive, the state has witnessed significant Infrastructural cum industrial revolution.

More importantly, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ensured that his led administration is setting up policies and laws to make sure that its people have the dignity of living.

Recently the Lagos State Assembly Amended the Criminal Justice Law of the State, which made significant change to the State Criminal Code, removing the old obnoxious practices and replacing them with laws which are in tune with the 21st Century Reality.

Under the new Criminal Justice of Law of Lagos State, there shall be no more parading of suspect by the police, no more arrest without warrants unless the suspect is found with a firearm, no more arrests of suspect's family members, no more torture or harassment of suspects before or after arrest and also suspect should have access to lawyers.

While in times past, citizens has been subjected to inhumane treatments over the inadequacies of its Criminal Justice Law, it's this refreshing to see that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration has taken a bold initiative to correct these inadequacies, making it the first state in the federation to do such.

Kudos must be given to the Lagos State government as led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu for taking such a bold step, this is an evident that he not only mean well for the State but also that he is also committed to seeing to an holistic development of the State.

Also to help facilitate the activities of the men of the Nigerian Police in Lagos State, the Lagos State Government has launched 150 units of double cabin vehicles, 30 patrol saloon cars, 4 high-capacity troop carriers and 2 anti-riots water cannon vehicles.

When a government is committed to ushering in the much needed dividends of democracy, it will go great extent to secure this, other states of the federation must borrow a leaf from the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the adminstration of their respective States for of a truth, he not only deserves our commendation, he also deserves to be emulated.

Laws made by the Lagos state house of Assembly has no jurisdiction whatsoever on the Nigerian Police Force Which is only subject to laws made by the National Assembly, Federal Jurisdiction.
