So I noticed some parents from the old era usually cutoff the hair of a newborn, it happens most especially in a muslim home. I know this because I was born a muslim. I want to know the reason why a baby's hair is being scrapped off, I don't agree with this practice though....

Cutting of the hair is something that has different meanings to different cultures... It's not something that we can firmly confirm if a particular ideology of it is true or not...
So since it's a child's hair, the only person (people) who opinion about it matters are the parent... If u feel comfortable cutting it, then u can, but if not, no need ..
But health-wise, "IF" u want to cut it, do so from one year and above.. because the scalp will be stronger...

It's because it had passed through blood at birth. But nothing bad in keeping it

As a father, like I told my wife, we decide when to cut our children's hair. For me, I am not sure I want to cut it until the child can decide if she wants to cut the hair.

I know its required for Muslims because of their religion.

For me
Girls- no cutting
Boys- trim with scissors when the hair is very full this should be around 10-12months. If he's not hairy leave it.

The hair protects their scalp.

She's not gullible, more reason she's curious and asking question.
