PDP Suspends Masari, Nnamani, 16 Others

ABUJA, April 22, 2010
(THEWILL) - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday suspended some of its members for their failure to appear before the National Working Committee (NWC) to defend themselves over spurious anti-party activities leveled by the party.

Those suspended are former Senate President Ken. Nnamani, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Aminu Masari, former PDP governorship Candidate for Abia State, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu as well as Chief Tony Ukasanya, a party chieftain from Abia.

Others are Senator Adolfus Wabara, Chief Sunny Iroche, Senator Emmanuel Agboti, Senator Sylvanous Ngele; former Imo State of Governorship Candidate, Senator Ifeanyichukwu Ararume; former Imo State Governor, Chief Achike Udenwa; a former Political Adviser to the president and PDP presidential aspirant, Chief Rochas Okorocha; former Akwa Ibom State Deputy governor, Chief Chris Ekpeyong; Chief Abiye Sekibo; Hon. Auwal Tukur; former Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bawa Bwari; Prof. ABC Nwosu, a one time political Adviser to the President.

The list also includes Dr. Peter Odili, erstwhile governor of Rivers State; Kelechi Igwe and Chief Bernard Eze, a former National Auditor of the Party.

The matter has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

However, the suspended members of the PDP Reform Forum and the Acting President Goodluck Jonathan are schedule to hold a meeting later tonight over the group’s insistence that the Party’s National Chairman whom they referred to as a failure, "should shape in or be shaped out of office."

In a statement at the end of the meeting in Abuja, which was made available to THEWILL, the NWC expressed dismay over the neglect of its invitation by the group under the aegis of 'PDP Reform Forum.'

The party also claimed that members of the Reform Forum were duly notified but deliberately refused to use the opportunity granted them by the invitation to explain their alleged anti-party roles.

Meanwhile, members of the PDP Reform Forum yesterday in a meeting issued a warning to PDP Chairman Prince Ogbulafor to distance himself from the PDP governors whom they say are the very foundation of the problems the party is facing presently.

The group also accused the party leadership of insincerity and gross inept while passing a vote of no confidence on the Ogbulafor led NWC. They also blamed him for the party’s loss in the Anambra State Gubernatorial election, due to his inability to manage over N500 million naira voted for the election.

Instead of this unnecessary show of force, the party should ask an honest question. 'Why are these people opposed to our claim of rigging?

CP what?,was that ever a political partyit's just a cult for Islamic jihadists headed by Ayatollah Buhari.Only power-hungry hypocrites from the South like Tunde Bakare,Tony Momoh etc would have anything to do with that cult. Not to worry, soon enough, they too will be frozen out of the clique by Bihari, since they're not sharia-minded enough

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Thursday wielded the big stick against erring members.

Party stalwarts from the South-south, Southeast and Southwest geopolitical zones who openly opposed the decision of the party to challenge President Goodluck Jonathan’s victory in the April 16 presidential poll have now been expelled from the party.

The Sokoto State chairman and secretary as well as the Kano State chairman have been suspended indefinitely.

CPC, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary Rotimi Fashakin, announced that the party members who took part in countering the decision of the party’s national leadership to challenge the presidential election result in court have been expelled.

Oga Gen. Buhari would understand that politics is a far cry from miltary. There's actually something called dissent, disagreement, and compromise in politics, quite unlike military.

This is a right and proper move.

If you were running a business and your employees are not following instructions, wouldn't you sack them?

The point is that they are falling apart. The center cannot hold. It is a very bad sign and a show of shame. It also shows there is really no leadership in CPC. Just dictators

Nope. It only shows the innate greed burning in the hearts of an untold number of Nigerians!

It's worth noting that the ACN has had similar troubles of this nature in Akwa Ibom and Rivers State. People become turncoats when offered lots of money. It's a sad part of life but we're used to it now wink

When we said look at individuals not party because people are criss-crossing from one party to the other in other to gain power people said no the only problem is PDP and so long as you do not belong to PDP you are okay. GEJ is in a fail party PDP but none of the other parties have proven to be better; otherwise why would CPC have this kind of sharp divide. I bet you the expelled party members will go to court and further distract them from forming a formidable case on the tribunal if any!

I’m sure the suspended members have already backed out before now. If not, you don’t expect them to be loyal to a movement (CPC) that sponsored the killing of their children. NONSENSE.

They deserve to be fire if they can not agree to their leader, mostly they are the people DPD paid to cause all these mess
Re: CPC Falling Apart? SE/SS/SW State Chairmen Expelled by bisiaet: 2:36pm On May 20, 2011

He is born to failed and will always fail. Any man that has no sympathy on his fellow human is a bloody sucker and that party (cpc)will crumble to pieces soon BUT for him and his vampire followers to rule this country is not going to happen now or never. Buhari is a bloody sucker a hater of peace, a tyrant and jihadistgoat pretending elderstateman God will surely punish him for the souls that was wasted for his demonic intention to rule again by all means. If they are the ones PDP pay to cause all the mess as you stated it then means CPC was parading rogues before the elections as members from North to South- so where lies the holier-than-thou posture you guys portrayed; maybe not surprise if Tony Momoh does otherwise tomorrow. So how come the issue of PDP alone was bad. Now you will agree that Nigerians voted personality even if they have a political platform to achieve their aims.

Re: CPC Falling Apart? SE/SS/SW State Chairmen Expelled by Johnpaul2k2(m): 4:15pm On May 20, 2011
the points are very very simply, they expelled due to the following reasons
1. they believe that cpc in these states didn't do their work very well by winning in those state
2.because they believe Christians are not part or betrayal to them
3. maybe, there was no riot in the SE/SS/SW
4.because there was no riot in that region
and the worst of it all, is
5.  cpc in that region didn't kill CORPERS
