If you have money, just invest in Solar. I did it and now have my peace of mind. Except that the solar cant power my sumo pumping machine and freezer and the power output declines once the whether is cloudy. But 99% of the time, I enjoy my uninterrupted clean energy and power.

Get solar compatible devices. I av solar freezer that smallest petrol generator (I better pass my neighbor) can power. Consumes less Dan 120 watts.

All my fans are 10 watts each and my bulbs 5 watts. I am saving more energy and enjoying my solar.

F117nighthawk:
The best way to teach this scammers and thieves called discos a big lesson is to boycott and stop paying their bills, but Nigerians will never unite and speak with one voice, I have been on generator for over a year in my area now since I refused to be connected to their grid to be paying crazy estimated bills as they are yet to supply me their meter. I keep saying this, if everybody act the way I acted, this nonsense they do will be a thing of the past
Favors you because Electricity ain't constant bin your area.

Some areas have got at least 18hours supply a day.

What will you say about that?

I understand your point. But are these discos telling us they reject power because Nigerians have enough? Cos I don't just understand it. Even in areas whr they reject loads, customers are in darkness. So the rationale behind this still befuddles the mind.

I have asked this same question times without number. If you sell power to make money, why keep people in darkness if they are ready to pay for power? Many things don't add up.

My theory is that the intelligent brains behind the power issue are same brains with the highest investments in PMS and diesel import. The proportion of steady power delivered to consumers is inversely proportional to the quantity of PMS and diesel imported.
They are quick to award contracts for construction of power plants, but how many of these power plants are actually operational?
Steady cash out day in day out.
I may be wrong.

Good for them, i don't pay for what I don't consume, it's general attitude of Nigerian to pay for extortion, it's a sacrifice I have to make on my own path, if they bring my meter then it's pay as u go

The infrastructure can sell 13MW for how many hours per day in a week? Let us know to give room for other investors to come in.
You cant hold us in blind captivity

That was where FG goofed during the privatization scheme. A clause should have been included that would ensure periodic upgrade and expansion on the existing transmission infrastructure.

limited is better than zero
Durability is choice (cost )
Cost is relative
The fuel one buys into gen does up costing more

Limited supply using backup is pennywise pound foolish. It cost more in the short run if all things are not equal

depends. For domestic use, solar is OK.
But not for manufacturing and other heavy uses
