Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar on Saturday reiterated his commitment to introduce modern cattle ranching in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by Auwal D. Sankara (Fica), Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on New Media and made available to Saturday INDEPENDENT on Saturday.

The statement, however, revealed that his principal met with experts from the Cownexion company at the Nigerian Embassy in the Netherlands.




He said the governor “entertained an hour-long presentation by Mr Klass, the Chief Executive Officer of the Cownexion company renowned cattle ranching consultant company in Europe.”

Sankara explained that “The move by the Executive Governor is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari-led’s administration’s effort to bring to an end the aged long crisis between farmers and herders in Nigeria.”

The statement noted that “Jigawa state having the largest land in northwest Nigeria and with the abundant water resources ranching would be suitable for local herders across the state.”
