*Menopause
Women found to have intra-uterine fluid accumulation are already experiencing menopause.
Previous Endometrial Ablations
A history of endometrial ablations can cause the cervical opening to become stenosed.

*Fibroids or Tumors
The presence of fibroid or benign tumors in the uterine wall has also been found to cause constriction of the cervical opening.
Foreign body-like intrauterine devices, meant to control pregnancy, may get infected and result in the accumulation of fluid in the uterus.
