This is sign that you are not versed in security matters, so better leave matter for Mathias, anybody condemning this approach is either naive, ignorant or just wailing to destroy Nigeria and nothing else.

Without network, you tell me how they contact their victim relatives for ransom, besides their locations are know and the security agents have special gadgets for communications...

Make I stop here.

Story.
They just don't want the state residents to continue reading and watching how the state has been over-run by Islamic terrorists and bandits.
This is more like trying to boost moral by daily releasing imaginary figures of deaths and surrender of bandits on NTA and government propaganda radio stations while the reality is different.
Same social media they all used in getting to power and spreading lies is now a big threat to them.
Karma!

Always negative even when you are sincerely ignorant on the matter at hand

GEJ had Boko Haram, kidnapping and mild Herdsmen crisis
Buhari has Boko Haram, ISWAP, Bandits, Herdsmen, IPOB and Kidnapping
I pity the next president of Nigeria. He will be blamed for so many things.
Buhari is the architect of his own insecurity. Wasn't he the one who invited those foreign fighters so as to fight in preparation for GEJ's refusal to hand over after the elections? He was the one who re - integrated "repentant" terrorist into the military and larger society. He granted them amnesty through his operation safe corridor program, he exacerbated the herdsmen crisis by treating his kinsmen with kid gloves through his body language and failing to treat them "in a language they'll understand". Inadvertently, triggered the secessionist movement of Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi KANU by his rhetorics, appointment and policies. They say as you make your bed, so will you lie on it.

I learned the land mass in the North is 100 times larger than what we have down south. I know see how and while it mis easy for these bandits to kidnap hundreds of people and hide them in the forest for months and the security agencies won't locate.

But what I don't understand is how with this large land mass they have they couldn't rear their cows up there but they bent teeth to bring them down South

We are not serious in this country. I thought we even need Telcos to catch them. We don't want to block their communication line. If bandits use our Telcos services, that is they do not set up their own communication system, I see no reason we can't track them by working with Telcos.

In fact, you don't even need Telcos help to intercept GSM communications. All our major Telcos use GSM. GSM has almost no encryption. If those bad boys use end-to-end encryption apps like whatsapp, there are still advanced ways to still intercept that.

They prefer to see Nigeria in ruins because they enjoy complaining.

They have been miserable since their #Endsars attempted coup failed.

Where are their brains before. Bandits need to tackle from the root not from the heads. Find their sponsors, block them from getting fuel ,from buying food, block them from getting weapons.

well from your Post, looks like you have not traveled to the north....
answer to the last paragraph of your Post...the north has scare vegetation and rain is a scarce commodity in further north like sokoto where rain maybe be seen nothing more than 3months ..how will grasses grow? with shrubs, tress and grasses which can only withstand harsh weather can only survive....but
looking down south, you May almost have green grasses round the year, with raining season extending till November sometimes even till Dec. with thick rain forest.green grasses every where in the South...the South is like living in the us d to the herders... because the South is their greener pastures
Re: Bello Matawalle Explains Why They Had To Shut Down Telecoms Services In Zamfara by SANDAT(m): 9:08am On Sep 07, 2021
Even with the large land mass the forest lacks enough vegetation once the dry season set in. In addition unlike the south rains starts late and the dry season sets early meaning that the north has a short rainy season. There are a lot of wetland where they could have been grazing their cattle in the dry season but unlike the south the dominant occupation up north is farming therefore most of those wetland are cultivated in the dry seasons. In fact thats were all the tomatoes and the rest are coming from.
