Indonesia Prison Fire Kills 41 Drug Inmates, 80 Hospitalised (Video) by Nobody: 8:13am On Sep 08, 2021 |
A massive fire raged through an overcrowded prison near Indonesia’s capital early Wednesday, killing at least 41 inmates and injuring 80 others. Police and soldiers were deployed around the prison to assure there were no inmates looking to escape during the fire extinguishing. Televised footage showed firefighters battling to extinguish orange flames while black smoke billowed from the compound. Dozens of bodies in orange bags were laid in a room of Tangerang prison on the outskirts of Jakarta. Police and hospital officials store body bags of dead victims at a morgue in a local general hospital in Tangerang. “The situation is now under control,” Imran said, adding that at least 41 inmates were killed and 80 are hospitalized, eight of them with severe burns. A police vehicle is seen outside Tangerang Hospital, where the remains of people killed in a fire at Tangerang Prison are kept. Cells were locked at the time, the Minister said, but with the fire raging uncontrollably, "some rooms couldn't be opened." SOURCE Indonesia's Law and Human Rights Minister, Yasonna Laoly told local television, that two foreign nationals (a South African and a Portuguese) are amongst the 41 killed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AVylcNgfuY |

Indonesia is the most corrupt nation in ASIA Municipal. If you check well they ignited the fire to reduce scores of inmates, another way of eliminating drug barons without court injunction. in Bahasa you say "Salamat Pagi". And it was written in a language you don't understand. Gettat! Kizyte: 41 Likes 5 Shares |

Tragic. The real criminals are those that created and sustain a society where folks have little alternative to surviving than to trespass on the law. And to this disaster, there are culprits; those that overcrowded the prison; it’s worthy that not one of the warden was hurt. The prisoners who are mostly victims of their society were abandoned to roast. The priority was not the lives of these people now dead. The priority of the wardens or prison officials was that no one uses the fire outbreak as an opportunity to escape and they were willing to enforce the wickedness even at the cost of such a terrible injustice and painful death to the prisoners. Make no mistake and don’t be carried away by what you may call the dignifying of the dead by placing them in a body bag, it is just to cover the eyesore that have occurred and just to stem the rage that may occur if you see the damage the fire did to those folks in the prison. In Nigeria also, it’s no different from a prison; bandits are having the best time of their existence in history, if you survive the bandits, the police may kill you because you are young and a little successful, if you survive the police, you may die for the slightest of illness as the doctors are on strike, just about everything set out to hunt and kill you... and Buhari is the architect and warden of this prison and he cares not for the explosion that his actions and inactions and indifference would cause. May God comfort be with the family and loved ones of the prisoners and May God be with the rest of us. 11 Likes 5 Shares |

Allllrrrriiiigggghhhhttt Why did Nigeria even come to my mind now? Prisoners died from fire rage and they where stored in body bags and properly arranged taking to hospital with ambulance. Our soldiers are killed by Bandits and they are stored on top each other, just in open pickup and packed them like forsaking criminals with their legs dangling from the back. Chai, Nigeria still have long way to go. 9 Likes |

xpressionx: I would like to think not. The penalty for drug trafficking in Indonesia is still death. It would have been less expensive to execute the sentences of the inmates rather than burning the prison and risking the lives of wardens, firefighters and other security agents needed to ensure the prisoners do not escape in the fire. 5 Likes 1 Share |
