Nope.. that is not even a reason at all for those who are unbelievers.

You seek God denied all unbelievers eternal life back when He condemned them all to perish in their graves in Genesis 3 vs 16 - 22. - they cease to exist , mind, body and soul, when they die. So Hell fire is not for them at all.

Instead, Hell is for those who enter into the Kingdom of God , albeit through the broad gate that leads to destruction- Matthew 7 vs 13 - 14. Those who will end up in Hell, belong in Jesus Christ's flock , only they are the goats in His herd - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46

It is indeed a choice to turn away from wickedness to Jesus Christ but once you repent and enter into the Kingdom of God, there is no way out. And if you miss God's cut-off mark, it means one will spend an eternity in Hell.

So better to perish in the grave, I say, than to spend an eternity in damnation..

You are quoting Gen 3:16-22 out of context. That was when God placed curse on humanity because of their disobedience in the garden, they were chased out of the garden and remember they later raised children and had generations until Christ came to deliver humanity from the curse of law

Jesus Christ only gave salvation from God's curse to those who believe in Him - John 3 vs 16 - 21. Even John the Baptist reiterated this is John 3 vs 36.

So I am not certain why you claim I quoted Genesis 3 vs 16 - 22 out-of-context.

What's God's cut off mark? You need to read your Bible

Verse 16 says those who believe in Him are no longer condemned but are gifted with eternal life which is grace/Pardon from Death.

Those who don't believe Him, however, remain condemned - you can't be condemned to Death. And recall that God already denied eternal life to those who He condemned in Genesis 3 vs 20 - 22. So they all cease to exist when they die.
