We did a post a few weeks back on Annual returns and the need to file up to date returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

For clarity, Annual returns are mandatory monetary returns to be made to the Corporate Affairs Commission yearly by every enterprise, company and incorporated trustee.

The returns indicate to the Commission that the business is still in active operation. Failure to pay annual returns as at when due attracts a default fee to be paid alongside the actual returns.

The Commission requires that annual returns be up to date before any post incorporation applications can be made e.g. change of director or shareholding structure.
