By now, you are familiar with the name ‘Foodie’. In case you don’t know, it's a term for someone who lives and breathes food� They wear the crown with so much happiness and zest. They are intentional with every meal they set out to eat. Most times, they go the extra mile to make sure the food turns out perfect. Their tastebud has zero tolerance for bland meals. If this is you, we applaud you and urge you to carry your badge with pride. Funny enough, some people don't even know they are foodies, even though they do everything foodies do. These categories of people are yet to acknowledge themselves as food lovers. Anyways, these are sure-fire signs to tell you if food is more of a hobby for you.

Mouth-watering Dishes Pleases your Tastebud
You are a foodie when you don’t just accept any meal in its simplest form. For instance, when you crave noodles, the easy procedure is not for you. You prefer to showcase your cooking prowess in the meal and every other dish that comes along it. Moreover, you give no room for bland meals. You go the extra mile to please your taste bud. The association of ''Let's eat what is available'' is not for you. You only opt for those meals that make your taste bud ‘very’ happy.

You are a Food Explorer
The quote ‘Variety is the spice of life is for you. You are always likely to request a different dish anytime you visit a nice Buka/Restaurant. When ordering food with friends, you suggest ordering different dishes so you can all share and try each other's. You have butterflies in your stomach whenever you see something new and refreshing on the menu. More so, you find people who always stick to their usual meal as boring people. You are most likely to be confused and picky when you see varieties of dishes. This is so because you keep trying more dishes to explore.

Scout for the best ingredients at the market
Real Foodies take their time to search for the best ingredients for any recipe they intend to cook. Whether it's Beef, Palm oil or even Chicken, they always source the best of them all at the local market. They spend a long time shopping and are not bothered about dirt on their hands while sourcing foodstuff. This is what they have to through to make palatable meals.

Keeps tab on online food bloggers
If you love to follow food content creators on social media, read food magazines and enjoy watching cookery shows, congratulations, you made it to the list. You also turn on your notification button to receive new recipes; you go ahead to try out these dishes and leave feedbacks. In addition, you take your time to learn and understand any recipe you stumble on YouTube. You even try creating your recipes by switching spices and herbs to get a different taste. Need we say more? You are a foodie.

Foodie ‘Kiss n Tell’
There isn’t a better caption to give this other than ‘Kiss n tell’. You know you are in this category when you are always excited to tell family and friends what restaurants to visit and what meals to cook at home. You can’t wait to talk about the latest meal you explored and where they can find it. You even tell them what wine to pair with which meat/fish, or what staple to pair with a particular sauce because you have found the perfect combo. You are so knowledgeable about food and in fact, know all of the correct pronunciations of unusual or exotic foods.

There are more; You can turn leftovers into a whole new meal with the addition of a few herbs and spices and can create a meal from the last few ingredients in your cupboard etc. The list is endless. Being a Foodie is an exciting experience. Never let the words of naysayers keep you from exploring varieties of dishes and wearing your foodie badge with pride. You have earned it.
