Two days back I was feeling a bit sick the symptoms were those of malaria so I visited the nearest medicine store and got artesunate. I started feeling better for sometime then yesterday I realized I lost my sense of smell. I tried to perceive different things that are mephitic but it seems normal. It's been that way till this moment. If you've ever lost your sense of smell or had something similar please share your experience and what do I need to take in order to gain my sense of smell. Thanks in anticipation. |

Everything is not covid related. It's a reaction from malaria drugs. Mine lasted for weeks. But I didn't stop taking garlic, lime & others with prayer before I fully recorvered. Not a good experience at all. But it thought me of those things I never knew I should be thankful for |

Sunmolar: I never knew the importance of the sense of smell until I lost it, imagine today I was parboiling meat I got Carried away and everything got burnt I couldn't perceive anything not until I saw the smoke. The worst part is the aroma of food that I can't perceive chai. |

Valevilla: The sense of smell will restore gradually. The reason could be that you didn't follow the prescription the way it should. If you rush the dosage of some malaria drugs, the side effects are worse. |

I also experienced this 2 months ago when I battled malaria, till date I can't say my sense of smell has been fully restored but definitely better than July when I couldn't smell or taste anything 1 Like |

This is now more than a joke. I still can't percieve/smell something except its very close and has a strong odour. Just still after medications. A friend somewhat told me something similar. Are u guys sure it's all ok? |
