I joined the platform sometime last year cos I love writing. As economic situation of the country is becoming harder and harder, so I decided to make money out of it. To cut the long story short, the situation made me to venture into writing for Opera news hub, just to complement my earnings. I already made up my mind that if Opera news could pay based on how the earning is calculated, I am going to resign from one of the two schools and dedicate much time in writing for Opera news.
I was able to gather more than 400,000 clicks and more than 5000 engagements from the month of August to this moments. After doing subtraction, just for the month of August only, I have over 3000 engagements and over 300,000 clicks.

I was so happy about my progress. I did the calculations and I was expecting over ₦70,000 but, to my greatest shock, I just got the alert of ₦2343.60. A payment far far far below my expectation.

Let us do the calculations together. From the month of August to this moment I have 5410 engagements and 455940 clicks. From 1 of September to this moment, I have 1413 engagements and 141672 clicks - mind you they are far more than that, I don't know why they reduced them to the figures I posted above. Like my clicks is over 700,000.

Let us minus that of September to date from that of August to date, we have 3997 engagements and 314268 clicks.
Based on their calculations for earning, a click is ₦0.036, then multiply it by 314268, we have ₦11313.65.

100 engagements = ₦1800. Divide 3997 by 100 = 39.97. Multiply it by 1800 =₦71946. 71946 + 11313 =83259. 5%VAT will be taken away from it. 5x 83259 =416295/100 = 4162.95. Substract the result from 83259, you have ₦79096 as the final payment. But I was under rewarded with ₦2343, not even up to the subscription I burnt to post articles on their platform.

Why is it like that? Is there another way of doing their calculations? Is there anyone on this platform that have experienced this terrible thing before? Is there anyone one writing for them? How much did you receive for the month of August?
