Chelsea has grown to be one of the most successful clubs since its acquisition by Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich in June 2003. The London club has won 20 trophies since that time, making Chelsea the most successful club in England in that period.

Several legendary managers and players like Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Claudio Ranieri, Thomas Tuchel, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Eden Hazard, Ashley Cole and lots more have taken the credit for the high amount of success.

But some backroom staff and administrators have contributed enormously to Chelsea's success in the past 18 years. Among them are two notable women who Chelsea players, fans, and stakeholders will be grateful to for helping to build Chelsea into a formidable club:

1. Eva Carneiro - Team Doctor
Carneiro is a medical specialist specialized in sports who worked at Chelsea between 2009 and 2015. Two years after joining Chelsea in 2009, she resumed her role as the first-team doctor under then-manager Andre Villas-Boas.

In her six years at Stamford Bridge, she worked under four different managers, including Roberto Di Matteo, Rafael Benitez, and Jose Mourinho. She left the club in September 2015 after falling out with Mourinho for attending to injured Eden Hazard in Chelsea's first match of the 2014-15 season against Swansea City.

During Carneiro's three years as team doctor, Chelsea won three trophies, including the 2011-12 FA Cup, 2011-12 UEFA Champions League, and the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League. She was highly influential in getting the players to perform at their peak by ensuring that they were well cared for medically. Injury-prone Eden Hazard can testify to her expertise.

2. Marina Granovskaia - Director
Granovskaia is a business executive who presently works as the director at Chelsea. She has been working as Abramovich's PA since 1997 and moved to London with him after buying Chelsea in 2003, before becoming chief director in 2014.

Forbes named Granovskaia as the number 5 Most Powerful Woman in International Sports in 2018. She has been in charge of the club's transfers since 2014 and has helped sign top players that have propelled the club to national and international success.

Top players like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, Romelu Lukaku, among others, have joined the club under her supervision. While high profile sales like Eden Hazard's to Real Madrid for £100 million were a success because of her.

After seven years as chief director, Chelsea has won seven trophies, including 2 Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, a Champions League, a Europa League, and a UEFA Super Cup title.
