A new satirical website with a primary focus on current affairs in Nigeria is looking for a social media specialist for its newsroom department. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and have a visible social media presence.

Social Media Specialist requirements and qualifications

3 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role

Social Media Strategist using social media for brand awareness and impressions. Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices.

Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics

Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research

Good understanding of social media KPIs

Familiarity with web design and publishing

Excellent multitasking skills

Great leadership skills

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Team player

Good time-management skills

Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

Salary: N30,000 for the first three months which is a probational period; N75,000 is the target from the sixth month; N100,000 after 12 months.

The job requires no travel or assignment destination. The specialist can stay at home and share stories and manage responses from readers. He or she will be guided by the editor.

There are opportunities for growth and advancement. Based on satisfactory performance and other criteria, the specialist will become the Social Media Manager.

3 years experience and you are offering 30k as salary. Some interns, graduate trainees earn more than that. But you have the mind to offer someone with 3 years experience, with your many many requirements, 30k per month. Minimum wage.
