Many Nigerians have concluded years ago that the APC is not different from the PDP. But sadly, it appears that the APC is perhaps worse than the PDP and the facts to buttress this points are there for all to see.

When the APC was formed by merger of CPC, ACN, ANPP and APGA, many of the men who championed this cause were supposedly noble men, men with integrity, character, values and morals but increasingly the APC is becoming unrecognizable. The political party is now in doldrums and it is led by some of the most vicious young politicians around.

The addition of Femi Fani-Kayode to the APC only reiterates that the soul of APC is slipping. Even worse, is that President Muhammadu Buhari received him at the Aso Villa. This is a man that claims to be too busy to speak to his people, this is a man that cannot explain why the naira is N560 to a dollar but he has time for charlatans because he is one.

Whenever an APC flag is flung in his face, he suddenly comes alive. He has quickly forgotten all the alliances that brought him to power. He is not fixated on ruining the APC by using his foot soldiers, Governor Buni of Yobe and Yahaya Bello of Kogi, two of the worst governors in the history of Nigeria.

This two men governor their states from Abuja, they have achieved next to nothing as governors and even worse, they were supposed to be the case in point for youths in politics but with their track records who will put their faith in the younger generation?

If there were any doubts that President Buhari is incapable of telling his left from his right, the presentation of Fani-Kayode to put it to rest. FFK as he is fondly called has used the most of the last six years to insult the President and his supporters.

He has stoked up religious, ethnic and secession tensions in Nigeria but here he is dining with President Buhari. It is a sad reality that to get recognition and respect in the APC, you need to insult the President very, very well.

Call him a jihadist, a supporter of Boko Haram, ridicule his efforts to bring peace to Nigeria and while you are at it, add that he plans to Islamise Nigeria. This is where Isa Pantanmi, a world known terrorist will become your friend, ask FFK if I’m lying.

Then clueless Yahaya Bello will court you while Buni will arrange how you will meet the President. Sad, very sad day for Nigeria’s politics.
