Why Christians Should Carry The Bible To Church, Not Phones Or Tabs by iamDrRhymes(m): 9:13am On Sep 19, 2021 |
Technology has immensely changed the world and the church is not an exception. I can remember back then when pastors used to openly disapprove of those who do not bring their Bibles to church but it appears as if such days are gone for good as these same pastors are today using tabs to preach their sermons. One can even argue that perhaps these pastors were once ignorant of the 21st-century possibilities. I was in church 2 weeks ago and in the middle of the sermon, I decided to look around if I could find anyone with the Bible. I looked in all directions but couldn’t find any person in a church of over a thousand persons even though am as guilty myself. I think the projection of Bible text in many churches is responsible for this dying culture. The truth is that the Bible is not just for reading God’s word, the Bible is also like an identity card for Christians. One wouldn’t indulge in some questionable dealing in those days when you are known for carrying the Bible in your neighborhood but these days, we can not even point a Christian. Going to church now is just like going to a party hence the church need to go back to the old ways. 1 Like

Although you may have a point in the respect of identity, I can remember how carrying a Bible sort of distinguished me and made some even call me pastor, the most important thing is keeping the Word of God inside. If that is not done, the purpose of having or carrying a Bible is defeated. God bless. 4 Likes |

iamDrRhymes:those with porn infested phones can also be healed of their addiction, I think it's one of the benefits of taking your mobile phones to church. |

donbachi: You don't need a bible to bind or cast out a demon. if anyone has done it it's mere coincidence. The power is not from the pointed bible it's in the authoriry of spoke word . I'm not condemning those who dis it in ignorance. My Dad did too.He was the Police man that arrested tye head of Agbekoya revolt in the 60s. Those days that the farmers used juju on soldiers and policemen to the extent that their bodies would be itching them like fire . they tore their uniforms . But when he led the little team of police to the ring leader domain. he pointed his bible at him and commanded him to appear. The juju failed . and the man was arrested . the revolt ended. He used to attribute the power to the bible but later realise that it was the authority in him that disarm the juju. that's all we need . Jesus cast out devils by words only. Matthew 8:16 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: now concerning the idea of carrying bibles to church. I wish we could have the old time back . but it is gone forever. the bible has to always be in the latest technology. The paper bible was once the latest technology above scrolls and ram skin but the book bible has seeved its purpose . Tecchnology has moved to electronic which has many benefits apart from making bible reading easily available . it has reduced persecution in middle East and Asia. where they used to confiscate bible in time past. The story hasn't ended . More advice technology is on the way . maybe in our eye glasses. 2 Likes 1 Share |
