Those brown roofs you see are a proof of where civilisation first started in Africa...the same brown Republic houses the erstwhile largest city in the whole of Africa. The brown roofs are historic. We love them like that cos its part of our heritage. Why not Go to the UK and tell them their streets are slim and houses are looking too old too? They don't care.

As at the time those brown roofs were installed, 90% of houses in Nigeria were covered with bamboo and rafia. The owners of those red roofed houses had the money to pull them down and erect modern ones but they left it alone as part of their heritage. Go to ibadan and you would see more. The oldest Palace in Africa is in Ibadan.
