The President, Vision Africa International and Co-chair, Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace (IDFP), Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has stated that where there is injustice, there will be anarchy and crisis, stressing that justice is an antidote to peace in every nation.

The Methodist Bishop who was speaking on the heels of this years International Day of Peace, celebrated 21st of September every year, said the importance of peaceful co-existence among nations, countries, ethnic groups, individuals among others, cannot be overstated, adding that peace is a tonic that fosters development.

Bishop Dr. Onuoha, particularly called on the Nigerian government to leverage on the core essence of International Peace Day to foster peace for all irrespective of ethnic or religious colorations, maintaining that if people are treated fairly, they will feel like human beings.

He reminded government at all levels that if discrimination, injustice, apathy, among other vices thrive, crisis looms in such nation, reiterating that peace will guarantee justice and an egalitarian society.

The theme for this year's International Day of Peace is Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world. The UN General Assembly has devoted this day to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
