The only good place we have. Nigerians, sha, we can create yet never maintain. Despite all the many road constructions going on, we still don’t have good drainage systems. If one checks now I’m sure the gutters were closed using pure water sachets. That cancels my planned outing for today. |

We have been saying this repeatedly. Low lying, coastal cities have little economic viability going forward. The losing battle to climate change and ocean level rises will guarantee that much of Lagos, Portharcourt, Bayelsa, Calabar and Uyo will simply vanish from the map within the next hundred years or become prohibitively expensive to live in. 1 Like |

Kobicove: Yes and No... While certain floods or rainfall can be unprecedented, with the drainage system overwhelmed, but in this nation it seems to happen every year! What does that tell you sir??!... The drainage system is shocking and risky! It's like we are tempting fate in this nation... God forbid that the level of natural disaster we saw abroad happens here, even Lagos will disappear!!! The casualties will smash world records! 1 Like |

CLIMATE CHANGE is having an over riding effect on the environment and the way we live our life as at today. Mankind has drastically tempered with the natural habitat because of the drive to attain development. I am beginning to wonder why the FULANI HERDSMEN are so interested in the land in southern Nigeria when they have heavy rainfall in Bauchi state and some other northern states. The water that they are lacking is now in abundant up north. They could just hold their peace and rest the OPEN GRAZING PROJECT that their northern political leaders are disturbing the middlebelt and southern Nigeria about. |
