In Nigerian higher institutions, you get to see different personalities of lecturers, from the good, bad and ugly. We bet you must have come across these characters when you were in school. Shout out to the special lecturers who are angels sent from above to make sure you graduate without any problem. To the ones who are hell-bent on making life a living hell for you, oga be calming down . Indeed, we are aware that our lecturer’s responsibility involves shaping you to become a better person in society and we appreciate their effort. However, the approach towards achieving that goal has led to many sweet/sour stories. Coming back to why we are here; There are different categories of lecturers you meet in school; The Good, Foodie, Ugly and more. Grab your Popcorn and a chilled drink, and join us for some table- shaking moment

The Book Vendor Lecturer
This set of lecturers has different books for the number of courses they teach. They compel you to buy their textbooks, or else you fail their course. More so, they take note of students who buy their books and award them marks. They also ensure class quiz comes from their handouts; this compels you to get yours as soon as possible.

The Lazy Lecturer
These lecturers only show up on the first day of the lecture and during the exam period. Also, when you query them, they advise you to use your course outline to research and make notes. Moreover, the next time you see them at school is during the staff meeting.

The Unapproachable Lecturer
These types of lecturers are never cheerful, and they are too rigid. They can never let down their guard for the students. They believe students will ridicule them when they do so. That's why they make things difficult for them. Once these sets get to the class before you, if you don’t want to disgrace yourself, just stay outside jejely. You may even consider saying multiple silent prayers before approaching them for anything in their office.

The Over Religious Lecturer
If your lecturer is on this table, gather here for a town hall meeting These lecturers are mostly interested in the length of your dress, colour/type of hair and nail polish. The extreme religious ones will walk you out of their class if your makeup draws attention. Dreadlocks on the male folks is an abomination in their sight. No point talking about sagging of pants. The sad part of this gist is; they take almost half an hour to discuss your indecency and heavenly matters before beginning to lecture.

The Friendly Lecturer
The reward for these lecturers is both on earth and in heaven. Apart from making the class fun and interesting, you can meet them and discuss freely with them without any form of fear. They are always willing to guide you. Their sense of humour and style of teaching makes it easy for their student to learn quickly.

Wrapping up, good lecturers are a mix of chalk and challenges. They inspire you to do great things. Even more, they are passionate about your self-development and academic growth. It’s certain that you may have encountered more than one of these lecturers. Did we miss any?
