Yar Adua spent N820 million naira for inauguration.
Jacob zuma of South Africa spent N1.6 billion for his.
President Obama of the USA spent a whopping N22.5 billion naira for his inauguration
Jonathan would spend between N850 million and N1billion are people are shoutiing from thier roof tops. Is it that they are just ignorant or mere illiterates who do not read and cannot understand that events of such magnitude costs money especially in terms of security?

^^^There is nothing wrong in condemning waste. If there are ways the FG can reduce the amount, they should look into it. A low key inauguration will still serve the same purpose.

Administrating the oath of office is the most important part of the inauguration, the rest are details!

you mean Obasanjo spent that sum for Yar'adua!Normally the person in power is the one who can authorize such spending during hand-over.Because such spending are done before any hand over of authority!
Lastly Obasanjo tenure and south Africa are not similar or replicate of current events.Meanings things are worst here and now.So we have more problems in our hands. While during Obasanjo all seems plenty cos of privatization, crude oil price and a more corrupt government, with Nigerians ignorant of there rights to better living.
This time around people just woke up brother and it is time to stop such reckless spendings. Its gone on for a very long time under failing educational standards, poor housing, heavy un-employment,decaying security and  health systems. So people are saying no this time.Once beaten , !Why spend so much in a day event.when you could do a lot more to save life and feed some people.have you being to the hospital lately.People die cos of 10,000 naira worth of surgery.Last i checked people were in need of money to do one surgery or the other cry cry cry cry cry cry.4million,1million and some even 500k!so i ask you again. How many of such life would half of that spending save? I mean 500million ? cry Again how many people would get master degree scholarships with that,at say 5mil a year.Okay how abut employment.Do you know how much i earn a year?less than 850k!that would make another additional 500 graduates get off the streets and busy doing something.
Enough is enough. No heavy spending is justified, while Nigerians suffer period!
