Surviving in Nigeria this days is all about having common sense.
How person go still dey cycle at 5am in the morning at this period of buhari wey hunger done turn people to wild animals?

See, I have always said that there are some things, activities you don't do in Nigeria because the social services cannot support you incase of failures.
Eg, powerbike riding, jogging, bicycle riding, water skiing, trecking and not driving etc.
If you engage in high risk activity eg cycling, jogging in early or odd hours, one stands the risk of being knocked down or attacked by hoodlums. The attendant security and health care architecture will cannot secure your life!
Abroad, even Kenya, South Africa at the first call a medical helicopter would have picked up this man and he would have received suturing and blood even before he gets to the hospital!
See a us trained Nigerian doctor returned to naija to contribute her quota. She spent just 1 week in luth and ran back to the US! That she had never seen people die so much from trival issues. Left right and center people just die. Omo she japa!
May his soul Rest in peace.

I'm just tired of reading tales of woes like this about Nigeria. The institutions are not working.! This man was brave, he fought so hard yet Nigeria defeated him, he succumbed to the evil that's Nigeria.

Security zero, Hoodlums thrive
Police post, no police,
Security man, impoverished, no data
Hospital, no specialist doctor
Blood bank, comatose
Ah! Ah! Nigerian factor everywhere!

Anyone can be bedeviled by these misfortune just pray for God's attention on your case.

My husband was in an accident some years back, he was bleeding profusely. We rushed him to a private clinic, the doctor referred us to LUTH. We got there around 9 am, surgery didn't start till 4pm. That was how he laid in the pool of his own blood for 6 hours. I was crying the whole time. How he didn't die I don't know.

Part 2
Surgery was done alright and he was recuperating. 5 days into the time, the doctors' strike began. Everybody in the damned wards were dismissed. Don't go na! Dey say strike don start! Before we knew it, they were packing the beds, removing the fans, switching off machines. My husband was to be discharged that day but the stitches
from his surgery weren't removed yet. We had to go do that in a private hospital.
That's the evil of a country we live in.

I don't know if a law can be enacted to ban any public office holder from using medical facilities outside the country. Maybe they will run our hospitals well. Just maybe people will stop dying needless deaths.

My heart to this man's family. May they be comforted in these very crucial times.

I lost an uncle to to armed robbers and they stole his car after the robbery

Although we weren’t close but over the years I just think about it, also I was robbed on a hotel premises with crazy looking armed robbers with guns

The hotel na 3500 hotel room ooo

Imagine coming with guns to rob occupants of a 3500 hotel room

That’s when I knew this Nigeria the more difficult things are the more hungry people beccome and the more vulturistic and wild some people end up as.

I can’t imagine what the armed robbers who came to rob short time 3500 hotel room are doing now cos back then dollars was like below 400 and things were just becoming expensive

I’m sure the robbers now still rob and will keep robbing cos things are even 5 times more expensive

So the saying that one day the poor will have no one to eat but the rich is a lie and would always be a lie

Poor Nigerians have started attacking poor Nigerians and would have no one else to eat than poor Nigerians

What an irreparable loss to the family. Unimaginable that just because of mobile phone, two street urchins stabbed this man to death. Not to mention the series of delays to get help. Lagos haba, why naah? What happened to 911 ambulance service? Blood transfusion too na wahala.

So sorry. But if u cast vote for bragging purpose or based on ethnicity and/or affiliation, it may catch up with u someday. And while those that are doing their best for a good society can live with whatever bad incidents, u that is careless or reckless with your civic duty will not be able to leave with the incidents because of guilt.
May Gods government come about quickly.
Another one lost. It isnt supposed to be this way.

Almost the same way my younger brother died last year.......LASUTH is a death trap.......robbers stabbed him around 3am while sleeping.......no chance to perform surgery on him until after 24 hours....

Reason : surgeon not available
They just fumigated the surgical theater
Upon all the millions spent at Ayinke ICU...we lost Babatunde to a bad system

I will never forgive NIGERIA

Nigeria has failed us. Where I live I wake up early morning Saturday to go for 126km ( to and fro) bike ride. For once I never harboured the fear of being attacked by someone.

In as much as it is a dedicated bike path the cuts through isolated farm area if such happens I am sure that the police will fish the idiots out.

His injuries were bad. They were stabs to the jugular veins. He had also lost a lot of blood before they eventually got him to the theatre.

Even the Bible says "Money answereth all things".

Nevertheless, the crime rate in major cities like Lagos across the world is still higher than that of Lagos.

Imagine am na.....Had it been Everything was in order in terms of medical facilities, this man would and could have been saved undecided

Sometimes,I begin to wonder if those hospitals wey our mumu criminal politicians dey run to for abroad, dem no dey see the difference between their modern medical amenities for there compared to the iron-condemned wey we get for NIGERIA undecided

you at never really understand how bad the system is until you have a case. I really hope we sit up in 2023 and ensure the right hands are put in the right places. Enough of this mediocrity and stealing spree. How long will it take for us to realise that a man is not rich in the midst of so many poor people and that poverty spreads. Poverty is contagious. Its menace is wide spreading. This man was the victim today. Who knows about tomorrow.

Those who could do something to help us in this country but wouldn't do due to their selfish interests... there is an eye that watches you...
Look at how this gentleman was wasted and all the robbers could take hold of was his mobile phone.
Posterity would judge all of you someday. What does it cost to build and equip our hospitals?
This is really painful. RIP brother! People are traveling to London to strike a pose with our politicians in the hospital. In Jimi Disu's voice " it is insensitive and insulting to the masses". People are impoverished by your leadership and you try to smear it on their faces that you don't care. I am just crying for our dear country. All our doctors are employed in the UK and Saudi Arabia and the remaining ones here are on strike. It does worry our leaders at all. Sometimes I wonder what our legislators are doing in the upper and lower houses. Plans are underway to elect or select another set leaders for another term. Where did we get it wrong in this country? Church owned schools are expensive so are the other privately owned institutions. Government schools would make things rough by engaging in strike actions and yet people laugh and think all is well. I suggest they introduce women in politics at all levels of governance.

And some idiiots would still come out and defend these corrupt politician; some would even vote for a certain big-eyed fellow who is currently recovering in London if presented by APC in the next election. A good majority of Nigerians would vote in people who put them in the conditions below. A good majority of Nigerians make me wonder if they have sense at all.
