The Peoples Democratic Party has demanded the resignation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, over alleged mismanagement of the economy.

National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the demand on behalf of the party, at a media briefing in Abuja, on Thursday.

The PDP also demanded that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should equally investigate allegations of malfeasance in the management of the bank and the economy.

The spokesman stated, “Our party insists that the tenure of Emefiele as CBN governor under the APC administration has witnessed colossal failures of monetary and fiscal policies, requiring him to vacate the office and hand himself over for investigation.

“It is instructive to note that when Emefiele took office as CBN Governor in 2014 the naira exchanged for N164 to a dollar.

“Today, in the hands of Emefiele and the APC, the naira has tumbled to near N600 to a dollar, putting the nation’s economy on its knees.”

Ologbondiyan further said, “Painfully, under the leadership of Emefiele, the CBN has failed in its core mandate of managing the economy and took a dive into propaganda, with claims that do not reflect the harsh economic reality on the ground.

“The PDP, therefore, urges the EFCC not to allow this revelation to be swept under the carpet as it borders on serious economic sabotage which sanctions are clearly spelt out under our laws.”

This is a strong reminder that PDP isn't the solution. Forex shortage isn't the fault of a CBN gov. It shows why PDP failed and APC was ushered in. The sad news is that APC too has failed. Shortage of any thing with high demand will send its prices up and that's what is happening. The aggression should go towards those who prefer to sacrifice cash crops that can earn forex for cows. Those who choose to borrow to do RUGA and private ranches that cannot earn us forex anytime soon or improve igr. Those who refuse to build refineries to save forex. Those who used forex based loans to build rail for sahara Africa.

Who employed him in the first place? Was his incompetency never considered when he was forwarded to be appointed Gov of CBN? We know you brought him in to finance your election in 2015 and to do your bidding of sharing as usual but unlucky for you crooks to loose out.

If he was sacked immediately the buhari government came into place, you guys would have shouted witch hunting or nepotism and the blas of because he's a Southerner. Now he was retained and doing the bidding of failed politicians and leaders that cut across both parties, you are here making noise.
The other day, the imported chinko obi was calling FFK irrelevant for a snap he took with buhari yet wasn't irrelevant when he had a snap with same FFK towards 2015 elections.
Hypocrites everywhere
