8.75 kilometer Road and it is regional? Less than 10 km and yet billions will be expended. Go to Jakande and Igbo-Efon see the worsening state of roads. God will help you. One day posterity we judge us all!

Let all those Lekki inhabitants allow us drive to Ajah and Epe in peace.

I hope they force all of them to enter through Freedom way, so we go rest.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Hope it would ease traffic on the lekki-epe axis? They should make it at least 8 lanes total.

this is a welcome development..but more efforts shud be placed on the apapa axis road...Lagos tends to generate more from that axis..

This is a good development considering the fact that Lekki-Epe express way is congested already with so many real estates springing up daily and the traffic congestion getting worse.
More detours should be created to easy traffic cos the nightmares of drivers on this axis daily is best imagined.

Why won't billions be expended? I hope you know N1bln is only $2mln!! N10bln is only $20mln. Besides the road will be more expensive than normal because of the swampy and non solid nature of soil in that axis (a LOT of sand filling and compaction will be required - its not the same as building a road in Oyo state on firm, dry ground). Also because the fact that the construction is in a built up area, logistics will be difficult and safety and environmental measures have to be put in place much more than a road construction in the middle of nowhere.

I am not saying it might not be overinflated, or that there will not be corruption, but just trying to balance it for you.

Lagos is the most progressive state in Nigeria.
Kaduna comes a very close second.
Kano, Akwa-Ibom, Kwara and Borno are doing relatively okay.
Other states are glorified LGAs.

The worst states in Nigeria are in the Southeast. They lag in EVERY developmental index.

Before you insult me, may Sango punish you in advance.

Lagos is just another Igbo dominated territory. All the Estates in that map are owned and dominated by Igbo.

48.9% of SE population in Lagos shouldn't be underestimated.

I foresee an Igbo becoming governor of the State near future.

Ekó òni bajé....o bajé tì.

I really hope that the design of this road has been well thought through? Unfortunately, knowing Nigeria, it will not have. A factor that causes so much issue for the existing Lekki Epe expressway is the absence of flyovers, with proper exit and entry lane. While the effort to re-design the road from roundabout to junctions made some sense, it was not the most optimal because the traffic flow of that axis is too heavy even for junctions with traffic lights.

At the minimum, there should have been a flyover at 2nd (Marwa) round about, 4th Roundabout at Ikate, Igbo Efon, VGC and then the Ajah one. This would have allowed for much freer flow of traffic.

And besides, once this road is completed, LASG should immediately begin to plan for a Coastal road as well so that say by 2025, there will be at least 3 parallel roads of similar capacity to take people from Ajah axis to VI, Marina.

And in fact, beyond roads, a train system would be very welcome to that axis.
