In footage obtained today, unknown gunmen can be seen as they stormed Onitsha in full force and residents were seen hailing them.

The tension has been very high in the southeast region of the country as due to free operations of these unknown gunmen in parts of the region.

These unknown gunmen have resorted to the killing of Igbo prominent men across eastern states.

Nation Newspapers reported that Dr. Chike Akunyili was murdered in Umuoji, Nkpor Junction in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State on Tuesday evening.

Recall that Dr. Chike is the husband of the late Prof. Dora Akunyili, the former Minister of Information. Dr. Chile was murdered by yet to be identified gunmen in Umuoji, Idemili.
