Managing Director Aerofield Homes Limited, Mr. Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for signing the anti-open grazing bill into law, even as he expressed hope for a better Nigeria.

Akintunde, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, and one-time student leader and pragmatic politician of note who doubles as convener for Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA), said Nigeria’s future is bright.

Akintunde in his goodwill message on the 61st Independence anniversary of the country, affirmed that there is no nation without her challenge.

He counselled that it is the duty of all to make Nigeria work and that very soon, the nation will emerge stronger from its challenges.

“Whatever the challenges we may be passing through, I have that strong conviction that all will soon become history”.

Stressed that difficulties confronting the nation are just pointing to the fact that this country is destined to be great, he said Nigerians should attune their minds to attaining greater heights.

“Nigeria is God’s project that He, the Almighty, won’t allow to fail. There’s indeed hope of a better tomorrow; so we all have strong reasons to be hopeful.

“Let’s all cooperate with our leaders and remain obedient citizens. It is the duty of all of us; the one leading and the led alike, should make this country work”, Akintunde counselled.

In the same vein, the APC chief commended Governor Abiodun for signing the expected anti-open grazing bill into law.

The bill which was signed into law by the governor at the state capital on Thursday, prohibits the open rearing and grazing of livestock in any part of the state, except in designated areas.

The governor had said, “It will eliminate the usual attendant clashes between livestock herders and crop farmers as a result of open grazing. The law follows the decision of all Southern Governors, and will bring a number of agro-economic benefits when it becomes effective in six (6) months.

“What is of utmost importance is the security of lives and property, and the convenience of all players in the agriculture industry, and a safer place for investors”, Abiodun noted.
