*DR. MADUKA TO ESTABLISH GERIATRIC HOSPITALS IF ELECTED.... ACCORD PARTY DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE...SIR KENNETH IFEATU OBI.*

By StandOut Africa Media (08097311499)

*The Frontline Deputy Governorship Candidate of Accord Party in the November 6th Anambra State Governorship Election, Sir Kenneth Ifeatu Obi has assured Ndi Anambra that Dr. Godwin Maduka, (Lion of Africa, Okosisi Orumba) will establish geriatric hospitals across the three Senatorial zones, create geriatric sections in state owned hospitals and health facilities across the local government and incorporate trained geriatric doctors into the Anambra health-care system to take care of the health needs of the elderly in Anambra State.*

Sir Kenneth Ifeatu Obi gave this assurance while interacting with Accord Party faithfuls semi stated that Dr. Godwin Maduka, the founder of Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center, the largest pain treatment center in Nevada with specialisation in pain medicine, radiology, wellness, and physical therapy expressed sadness that while many people in the developed countries view retirement and old age as a period to travel around the world and spend time with friends/relatives, take trips to places they cherish, carry out home projects, tackle new hobbies, their Nigerian counterpart most times falsify their retirement age to stay at work because of the agony that comes with retirement.

Sir Ken Obi stated that it can be unpleasant to grow older in Nigeria, especially those in the low income sectors as the society and culture value youth, and being old is sometimes treated like a disease that has no cure.

Sir Kenneth Ifeatu Obi stated that many older persons in rural areas of Anambra State engage in menial jobs and manual work on the farms with meager earnings as long as their physical strength can afford. The most rural elderly suffers from health disorders and physical exhaustion and often have no retirement benefits to serve as social security as they were neither employed by company or established organisation.

*Sir Obi assured that Dr. Godwin Maduka whose expertise in anesthesia, pharmaceuticals, and critical care medicine spans over 16 years of higher education assured Ndi Anambra that when elected as the governor will give Anambra's Elderly, Retirees and senior citizens a lease of life which is obtainable in Western climes and also implement a framework for supportive and protective medical services to frail, ill, or disabled older people to support them and their caretakers while maintaining their capacity to live in the community.*

He opined that the rural areas have very bad road networks and so this makes it very difficult for the elderly to move around while in the city of Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka among others, the roads are too congested for the urban elderly dwellers to move around. He assured that his government will create suitable transportation services in both urban and rural areas in Anambra State for the elderly.

He assured that the Accord led government will provide social services such as income, security, health care, housing, and legal assistance to enhance the well-being and health of the elderly.

He urged Ndi Anambra to come out enmass and vote in Accord Party on November 6th, The first party on the ballot box so as to experience good governance in the state.
