The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel has approved the enlargement of the Technical Committee on the Implementation of Ibom Deep Sea Port by the addition of four more persons, to accommodate the input of the host communities.

The names are to be submitted by the Chairman Oro Steering Committee, Amb. Etim Uye.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the decision emanated from a meeting between the Governor and representatives of the Oro people at Government House, Uyo.

The Oron leaders apologized for a viral audio where the Governor was attacked.

Amb. Uye speaking on behalf of Oro people, as the Chairman of the Oro Steering Committee, disowned the vexatious audio and apologised to the Governor on the embarrassment that may have arisen therefrom.

They communicated their preparedness to receive and support the deep seaport project and other projects attracted to their area by the Governor.

In attendance at the meeting were AIG Asuquo Amba, Prince ChrisAbasi Eyo, Chief Otu Ita Toyo, Engr. Ita Awak, Ikpoto Okon Osung, Chief Effiong Afiakurue, Dr Etim Amba, Prof. Eka Uwe, Ita oboho ,John Ntekim, Ezekiel Ibok and Omen Bassey.

The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey,
Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Sea Port, Mr. Akan Okon, Honourable Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the representative of the Traditional Institution, HRM Edidem Raymond Inyang and the representative of Socio-cultural groups, Akparawa Patrick Udofia, were also in attendance.

Kudos to our governors in the east, still waiting for my governor Oyetola to do something meaningful after years in office.

Nigeria would have been a better place if the governors themselves are doing their best, providing the necessary things needed for the development of their states.

Go to government schools in OSUN STATE and see how they lack teachers over there, a secondary school with just 3 teachers, how do we expect Nigeria to develop?
