Meet the men of God who wanted to be like Jesus, they fasted 40 days and night and nearly died



The Bible explains that " My people perish because of lack of knowledge" this statement is valid because people go to the extreme to be like Lord Jesus Christ without enquiring from the holy spirit. They follow the footstep of Jesus by fasting for forty days and nights without confirming if they should or not.

The Bible also warns Christians in the book of Hosea 4 vs 6 and Isaiah 5 vs13, when it said that 'my people are in captivity because they lack knowledge. The holy spirit is not an author of confusion, if he needs you to go on a mission he will guide you through that mission and make sure you come out victorious.

This article will focus on some men of God who desired to be like Jesus and in the process of getting what they wanted they fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, off which some passed on, unfortunately.

1. Evangelist Chidi Eke who is a 46 years old pastor and hails from Imo state In Ngor Okpala local council area, fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Unfortunately, he succumbed to pains while fasting.

According to reports Evang Chidi Eke abandoned his family, wife, and two children in Lagos came back to the village, and started his evangelism and soul-winning crusades.

In a mission to be closer to God and to gain Spiritually strength, he went into the forest to yearn for God's grace and vigor, in the process of doing this he died. One of his church members who went to check up on him and see if he was faring well discovered his dead body. Sadly, he was the only child of his mother.

2. Mr. and Mrs. Omosebi

This is another family that decided to follow our Lord Jesus Christ's footsteps by fasting for 40/days and nights. This couple lives in the United State, they not only fasted for that long without food and water, but they also made sure their little daughter joined them too fast.

The deprivation of food and water to the growing child made her perish. The couple was tried for the manslaughter of their child and later sentenced.

3 Ikechukwu Oke

A teenager from Ebonyi State called Ikechukwu Oke fasted and prayed for 41 days on the mountain top. His mother had to interfere and was shocked when she set eyes on him, due to his skinny body frame.

She enquired from him why he had to deny himself food for a long period and not disclose his actions to her, he replied that it was the state of the family that drove him to seek the face of God that he drinks water and eats fruit only
