No fewer than 9 persons have reportedly lost their lives in the Alafin Sabo Idi Odun area of Oyo State on Monday, 4th October, 2021 when a tree fell on them.

Focus Naija can report that the victims included market women and their children that were taking cover from a heavy downpour.

According to an eyewitness report sent to our news desk, the victims and others caught up by the rain found shelter in a meat seller’s makeshift shop that was under the huge tree.

Suddenly a mysterious breeze started blowing, removing the roof of buildings and fuel station around. Oblivious of the tragedy lurking around to befall them, the huge tree fell and crushed nine of them to death.

It all happened in a twinkle of an eyes,it was around 4pm the weather was cloudy every one was running helter skelter looking for where to Dodge the rain, vehicles were speeding so as to reach their destination before the rain caught up on them, market women were all running to catch the last bus,all of a sudden the rain started.and some people that couldn't catch up the bus went and sat under a shelter where a meat seller sells his meat under a huge big tree not knowing that will be their end,as it was raining though not heavy,all of a sudden this breeze from hell started blowing carrying house roofs,fuel station canopy all away,as if that wasnt enough,the tree where some market women and their children were sitting,just fell all of a sudden crushing about 9 of them to death instantly.this happened at oyo alafin sabo idi odun area today being 04/10/2021.may their souls rip.
