Personally, I have not seen a Jehovah's witness smoke before. Individual would have overcome the addiction before being considered for possible baptism.
We try to live in comparison to God’s principles found in the Bible(that condemns smoking), and not in comparison with others.

The bible does not specifically condemns smoking but it contains principles showing that God does not approve of unhealthy and unclean habits and thus views smoking as a sin.

Because their God and Father {John 20:17} is watching over them just as a SHEPHERD watches over His sheep {Psalms 23:1 compare to Isaiah 49:15} so in that Organization looking after orphans and widows in their distress and keeping oneself unspotted from this wicked world is their priority! James 1:27
