Are you a huge okra fan?

It's becoming increasingly popular all around the world.

What's more, why shouldn't it be? It's not difficult to prepare. Gumbos with green okra may be rather filling!

This time of year, red okra is very popular.

We'll go over all you need to know about okra in today's video!

Is it possible to look younger using it? Should it be avoided by pregnant women?

All of this and more will be discussed...

Let's start with the basics.

Okra is a flowering plant native to Africa and South Asia that is used as a vegetable.

They are not only fuzzy, but they may also be rather sticky.

The sticky nature of okra irritates many people.

When you chop it up, even the seeds on the inside will stick to your knife.

Fortunately, okra thickens as it cooks.

Have you tried any okra-based dishes yet?

Please leave a comment below with your recipe!

It's reasonable to assume that okra has a somewhat bland flavor.

I mean occasionally, it can be nice, but that’s about it.

The best time to buy okra is during the summer.

During this time of year, you're more likely to receive a better flavor.

It's also a lot less expensive. In my book, that's a major plus!

Make sure the stems are still attached to the okra when you go shopping.

Select the tiniest of creatures, measuring little more than two to three inches in length.

The veggie will be tender as a result of this.

You can choose the lengthier ones if you don't mind the rough texture of okra.

Dark spots and imperfections should be avoided.

Before cooking, remember to remove the stem and bottom end.

You may safely refrigerate it for 4-5 days after purchasing it from the shop until it spoils.

You can steam, pickle, bake, roast, and even sauté thinly sliced okra.

To make a great summery okra dish, combine bell peppers, garlic, and spices.

It's also fantastic with corn, tomatoes, and eggs.

Cooking okra whole, rather than chopping it into little discs, is one of the secrets to excellent okra.

You may also cook it in acidic sauces like tomatoes or vinegar to get rid of the sliminess.

Simply slice the okra and bake it with salt, pepper, and curry powder to make nutritious okra snacks.

Grilling them till they're browned is my particular favorite.
