6 Reasons Why Having A Side Hustle Is Good For You

Even if you’re earning top dollar in your day job, you may still want to think about getting a side hustle. Here are some of the top reasons why having a side hustle is good for you:

1. Improve your quality of life
When you’ve got extra cash flow coming in, then you basically have more disposable income. This means you can use the money to buy your wants and not just your needs. You can go on vacations and do fun things with the family! You can buy the latest gadgets if you like. Of course, do all this fun stuff in moderation. You don’t want to get used to a more expensive lifestyle if your side hustle income isn’t even all that stable yet.

2. Have an outlet for your creativity
If you work a relatively boring and routine job, then you may not have much room for creativity. A side hustle you’re passionate about will help you get the creative release you so desire. This means that when you work on your day job, you should generally feel good most of the time!

3. Have a backup plan
Keeping all your eggs in one basket isn’t a good plan. When it comes to finances and income streams, diversity is key. If for any reason, you suddenly decide to quit your job or you get fired, then you’re not going to go hungry because you’ve got other means of earning money!

4. Pay debts and loans
If you’ve accrued some debt and loans, then you’ll find it hard to pay off all these if you just depend on your salary. This is especially true if you live paycheck to paycheck and have no savings. If you have a profitable side hustle, you can use the additional cash flow to pay off your debts and loans.

5. Build your emergency fund
Emergencies don’t exactly announce themselves. They just happen. And when they do, then you better be prepared. If you don’t have an emergency fund, then you could wipe out your entire savings, and you’d fall into even more debt!

6. You’ll meet new people
There are tons of benefits to meeting new people. You not only widen your horizons, but you also have plenty of opportunities to get referrals from people in your network. You’ll get a new perspective on things, and there’s always the opportunity to learn something new from your new friends!

How To Choose The Right Side Hustle For You

If you do a Google search right now for the best money-making side hustles, you’ll find articles that feature a few hundred different ideas. These posts are literally a minefield of ideas, but how does that relate to you? How do you know which side hustle is going to be good for you? In this write-up, we’re going to answer this important question so you can be on your way to earning your first dollars from your side hustle!
So, the first thing you need to do is to make a list of the things you’re passionate about. This includes your hobbies (yes, you can make some money by doing your hobbies!), skills, and your interests.

Starting with hobbies is always a good idea because it means you can do these tasks without getting bored. Skills are also a good thing to include on the list because it’s something you know you can do easily. If you’ve got music skills, then you can think of ways to make some money off of music! Lastly, listing down your interests will help you further narrow down the things you want to do.
Ideally, what you want to do is to choose a side hustle that you’re passionate about (preferably a hobby), is relatively easy for you to do, and is something you’re deeply interested in.
Keeping yourself motivated while doing your side hustle is important because you’re basically working solo. If you let your motivation slide, then you’re going to fail at your side hustle. So, right from the get-go, it’s best to choose something you’re going to like doing for a long, long time.
Many people have turned their side hustles into full-time careers and businesses. But it most probably took them years. It took a lot of hard work and dedication. They also learned from their failures and mistakes.
Succeeding in your side hustle will mean developing an entrepreneur mindset. This means not being easily discouraged, and having the ability to think outside the box. Entrepreneurs think big and they focus on their long-term vision. They don’t sweat the small stuff.
If you want to turn your side hustle into a successful business venture someday, then focus on that goal. Do everything within your power to ensure your dreams come to fruition. There’s no better validation that you chose the right side hustle than by actually succeeding at it!

6 Hobbies You Can Turn Into A Side Hustle

Wouldn’t it be great if you can make money off of your hobbies? You’d be doing something you love and earning money on the side, too! In this article, I’m going to show you 6 popular hobbies that you can easily turn into a side hustle.
1. Writing
If you love writing, then you’ve got quite a few side hustling options to consider. You can start a blog, you can do freelance writing (copywriting pays pretty well!), you can even write eBooks. You can even commission poems and sell these for a nice profit.
2. Graphic design
If you’re more into art and drawing, and you basically have a good eye for design, then you can sell your designs at various marketplaces online. You can design t-shirts and sell it on social media. You can have people pay you to create logos, social media graphics, icons, infographics and various artwork.
3. Singing
If you’ve got a good voice, you can sing in bars, clubs or restaurants. Or you can join a band and be their lead or backup vocalist. The possibilities really are endless if you’ve got talent. If you’re not afraid of going on TV, you can join singing contests and win awards and recognition in the process!
4. Photography
If you love photography, then you can sell your photos to stock photo websites. You can also work as a wedding photographer on your days off. You can have people pay you to take high-quality pictures of their products, houses, etc.
5. Dancing
Some people are born with two left feet. If you’re not one of them and you love dancing, then you can use your spare time to teach people how to dance! If you’re really good, you can join plays and musicals, and even get small roles on TV!
6. Making crafts
If you love making any kind of craft, like crocheting, needlework, sewing, candle making, etc. then know that you can make loads of money with it! The more intricate the design, the higher the price you’ll usually fetch. You just need to know where to find your target audience. Often, you’ll find them at places like Etsy, but you can also reach them on Facebook and Instagram.
