Good day everyone.

I have observed something in this forum concerning graphic/horror images.
Whenever there is a tragic news in Nigeria, it will be posted here with all the images, dismembered bodies and bloods. Though viewers desecration are warned.
But when it’s a foreign crime news, you hardly see the graphic image or blood, you only see the picture of the scene, the victims picture etc. Hardly will you see pictures of dead people or terrifying images of the victim.

These images can be those of people we know that died unjustly or in bad circumstances like the late Dora Akuyili husband.
Most are not criminals and their images are flying all over causing trauma to the victims family. Let us respect the dead.
Watching horrific images can trigger unwanted thoughts and feelings and increased levels of anxiety or panic.
Horror images can also cause Desensitization. In which one will lose his sense of empathy and other adverse effects.

I think it will be a step in the right direction to the improvement of the Nigeria media by censoring horror and graphic images.
