Good Day all, pls can any one show me how to remove short cuts from my external hard drive. I inserted it into a friend's system and by the time i brought it ouot, it changed all my folders into 1kb short cuts. Is there an anti virus to remove it? To remove this virus, you have to be at least an advanced user 1. Insert hard disk and take note of drive letter. e.g C, F, J. The drive letter is what is used to represent the hard disk when viewed in the my computer window. 2. Open the command promp window and type the following cd /d x: where x is the drive letter of your hard disk e.g if my hard disk drive letter is h, i would type cd /d h: press enter next type dir. press enter this will display some files. look for one that's similar to x.exe. x can be any letter type del x.exe press enter now to recover your files type the following attrib -s -h * /S /D prezs enter. to ensure the virus is completely removed, i'd advise you download the latest kaspersky antivirus. hope this wworks. cheers |
