We are beekeepers offering our numerous customers raw pure honey, direct from the hives just the way the bees made it. This is organic honey, with pollen grains and enzymes that the bees produce naturally.

Our honey is not pasteurized but only strained to remove any bits of honey comb wax and other extraneous matters, so it still retains original pollen and other nutritive values.

Our honey being raw honey contains vitamins, such as vitamin B6, thiamin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid. Essential minerals, such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc are also found in raw honey. Also several different amino acids, the building blocks of protein, have been identified in raw pure honey.

You might want to know why we referred to our honey as “raw” when many people perceive all honey to be raw. Our “raw” reference here is synonymous with uncooked vegetables and meat whereby any form of heating is avoided so as to preserve all the natural vitamins, enzymes and other nutritional elements.

Raw honey is the concentrated nectar of flowers that comes straight from the extractor; it is the only unheated, pure, un-pasteurized, unprocessed honey. An alkaline-forming food, this type of honey contains ingredients similar to those found in fruits, which become alkaline in the digestive system. It doesn’t ferment in the stomach and it can be used to counteract acid indigestion.

It is important to note that most of the honey found in the supermarket is not raw honey but “commercial" regular honey, which has been pasteurized (heated at 70 degrees Celsius or more, followed by rapid cooling commonly referred to as Flash method) and filtered so that it looks cleaner and smoother, more appealing on the shelf, and easier to handle and package.

Pasteurization kills any yeast cell in the honey and prevents fermentation. It also slows down the speed of crystallization in liquid honey. But on the downside, when honey is heated, its delicate aromas, yeast and enzymes which are responsible for activating vitamins and minerals in the body system are partially destroyed. Hence, raw honey is more nutritious than honey that has undergone heat treatment.

Raw honey is therefore the healthiest choice amongst the various forms of honey as it has the most nutritional value and contains amylase, an enzyme concentrated in flower pollen which helps predigest starchy foods.

Kenyan Top-Bar Hive

We produce high quality top-bar hive with Melina wood and it comes with either 15 or 20 top-bars and queen excluder. The top roof is made up of printing plate that can withstand any weather to protect the bees.

The entrance of the hive is equally equipped with sliding window to protect the bees during movement.

Smoker

A good smoker must puff enough soothing smoke and easy to operate. Our smoker is made of good galvanized iron sheet that has longer shelf-life and the bellow spring is soft to handle. It’s also equipped with handle to protect the glove from being burnt during operation.

Our Bee Brush is made up of soft brush material that will not harm your bees during operation and it lasts longer.

This Hive Tool is made up of spring material that can’t bend or brake when levering or priming the top-bars. It comes in varied colors depending on your choice.

Queen Cage

Queen Cake is meant to exclude and protect the queen either during inspection or in the process of de-queening or re-queening where the queen is temporarily kept. The cage is made of good wood and wire mesh that allows the worker bees to feed the queen.

Our Bee Dress is made up of Khaki material that is not too thick to cause unnecessary perspiration and not too light to allow bee stings to penetrate to your body. The veil is airy enough and tight-fitted for bees’ protection.

This feeder is made of Melina wood and galvanized iron. It can be used for inner and outside feeder. One very good advantage is that it restricts other colonies from robbing.

Queen Excluder

We have 2 types of Queen Excluder; Plastic and Iron. The main function of Queen Excluder is to restrict queen’s movement to brood area so that worker bees will concentrate on making honey on the other side of the hive i.e. honey area. It will be slotted in the hive to replace number five top-bar.

Propollis Collector Propolis, one of the bees’ products can be collected for commercial purpose by using Propolis Collector. The material is made of plastic and very durable.

Package Bees
We offer packaged bees for sale between mid-February and May ending every year. Our packaged bees consist of young mated queen together with several thousands of worker bees and a few drones.

Bee Farm Management/Consultancy
If you have failing bee farm we can advice on its turn-around strategies or handle its management for a token fee.

We also handle bee farm from the beginning to honey harvesting stage even to using honeybees for crop pollination; all at a moderate fee. We equally link bee farmer to buyers both at local and international levels.

As part of our efforts to encourage beekeeping in Nigeria, we engage in buyback program where any hive products (honey, beeswax, propolis etc.) are purchased from small-scale beekeepers at the current market price after quality certification.
