I'm on the fence about legalizing abortion in Nigeria.

Mostly because there are some grounds that should be allowed to get an abortion.

1. In the case of rape.

2. In the case of an abused child who gets pregnant.

3. In the case of a deformed baby in the womb.

On point 3, abroad, mostly US, Canada and Australia, there are tests that can be conducted before 12 weeks to see if a fetus has some long term or life threatening conditions. If the parents choose to end the pregnancy after the tests come out positive, they can do so.

I think abortion should be the woman’s decision not the government.

People are already doing it anyways and people die everyday from botched abortions, legalizing it with give people better medical help and save lives.
