Wane wallows weirdly from the dry land of Sokoto
down to the creeks of Calabar,
the promising broke the promise as
shooting stars couldn't shoot for par,
in a land where dreams wither
and passion couldn't prosper,
a land where fortune is a trade by batter,
the fatherland; a quicksand of murder,
motherland; a fallow that impedes her offsprings from springing further,
beneficial is being official, no one is really a lover,
forgive a sister, don't blame a brother,
poverty lives in the spine,
so, these lives couldn't live in their prime,
hope don't live here, despondency is the only sign,

so, how do we live when survival is suicidal?
When welfare is warfare,
how do we thrive in this battle of denial?
we rest in the bosom of Abraham only
to wake up on the thighs of Delilah,

now, the dream, is to
sleep at the shores of Badagry
and wake up on a white man's port,
to post pictures of living a resort,
home has become a deficit at hand,
it's better to squat in Scotland,
the reality of a dying dream,
transformation from an African to a human being,

after surviving these fractures;
no one desires to return after departure.
