EXPOSED: No name, wrong address… flaws in search warrant presented at Mary Odili’s home

Documents have revealed that the warrant presented by security operatives to search the Abuja residence of Mary Odili, a justice of the supreme court, carries a wrong address.

The security operatives, who stormed the residence on Friday, said they received information on “illegal activities” going on in the house.

Documents seen by TheCable showed that one Aliyu Ibrahim had, on October 13, deposed to an affidavit stating that he has “observed some illegal activities going on in some houses within Abuja and its environs”.

“That I am sure and convinced that the kind of activities going on in those houses within Abuja is illegal and hereby report the said matter to the law enforcement agency,” the affidavit reads.

“That I hereby state that all information provided by me to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

“That this affidavit is made in good faith and for record purposes.”

Consequently, one Lawrence Ajodo, identified as a chief superintendent of police and a member of the investigation team under the asset tax recovery panel of the ministry of justice, sought a warrant to carry out a search.

“That on the strength of the affidavit, we seek for a search warrant to enable us carry out investigation at No. 9, Imo street, Maitama, FCT, Abuja,” the police officer had said.

The warrant was granted on Friday by Emmanuel Iyanna, a chief magistrate at Wuse zone 6 magistrate court.

However, TheCable can confirm that the address for which the warrant was obtained is not that of the judge.

While Odili’s address is 7, Imo river street, Maitama, the address on the warrant is 9, Imo street, Maitama.

The search warrant also did not carry the name of the occupants of the premises.

Speaking to journalists at the premises on Friday, Mike Ozekhome, lawyer to Odili, described the warrant as one with “fundamental flaws”.

“It is a fundamental flaw. A search warrant must have the name of the person that you want to carry out a search on his or her house,” he said.

“Also, if they were looking for Imo street, they should look for Imo street elsewhere. There is an Imo close nearby. There is another Imo close somewhere in Garki, but this place is number 7, Imo river street.

“For that reason alone, they missed the point badly.

“If one wants to give them the benefit of doubt, one can say it was a genuine mistake which was why they quietly withdrew, contrary to the information circulating that justice Odili resisted search.

“On the other hand, it might be politically motivated to embarrass the justice of the supreme court and to embarrass her husband.”

The supreme court justice is the wife of Peter Odili, former governor of Rivers, who is currently on the watchlist of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Time to remove Mary odili the next obstacle on their way before 2023 just the the way they removed onoghen the last obstacle on their way before 2019 election. The woman is not ready to dance to their evil agenda to give cangaroo judgement.

Really quota system has done more harm than good in this country, someone who ought to be on the street selling sugar-cane in wheel barrow, is the Attorney general thanks to the quota system, so why won't there be foolishness in ministry of justice?

That FTC up there has said my mind.

You won't see that MannerlessVultureGriller and his ilks on this kind of thread. All they do is to comb for any IPOB thread and start masturbating with both hands to it.

A warrant that was hurriedly prepared last night by some Quota System Legal practitioners.

They just want to remove Mary Odili by force since she is proving to be an obstacle. Same thing they did and installed that Sharia lawyer who wears cap on suit and delivered a world class judgement making Hopeless Uzodimgba to become a Governor after coming a distant Fourth in an election.

Shame on this administration.
That is what they did to Walter Onnoghen.

This too much for them zombies to take. You won't see them on this thread because they know that their pay masters guffed big time. The month has come to end as they're waiting patiently for their stipend.
You'll fined them on Monday with renewed strength masturbating on anti zombie threads.

Moving away from the brouhaha.

What pains most in the situation we have in Nigeria today is that we have individuals that are extremely happy with the lawlessness. A lot of zombies rejoice when things like this happen, I don't understand where their hatred for doing things in the right way stems from?

How can you say you love the country and you are happy when the president, the government and her agencies go against the wellbeing of the country they ought to stabilise?

This nation is really not meant to be one.

I expect the fools that the affidavit was submitted to ask or investigate the type of activities, If the activities were raping and baby manufacturing, will EFCC have any business there?
Petition was submitted against the bullion vans man but nothing was done to it.

Whatever is orchestrated by Malami's Fulani brain will always be wack. A supposed Lawyer with zero regard for due process in the rule of law. He demonstrates impunity in its highest estate, he shamefully flaunts egocentric trabalism without remorse gross incapablity to hold public office in a plural state such as Nigeria. I hope that Karma comes back to haunt him after this tenure.
