Why Messi might not be considered as the Greatest of all time with Cristiano Ronaldo recent exploits


We have come way too long on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's debate. Every season, the two stars just keep on outshining themselves with outstanding performances. All credits to the two players.


However, one word that has been used to describe Messi over the years is becoming questionable at the moment. Messi is called the greatest in football. After winning Copa America, his praises went so high that people forgot so easily that this tournament is being played in two years span.


Cristiano Ronaldo led his own country to International European glory in 2016 with average players in the team. Now, let's look at the time interval, it's been played after four years, just like the World Cup.

You know, people talk about South America having a bigger standard than the European contingent. But, do you know that in the last two World Cups, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay are the only countries that stood out in the tournaments? Whereas we see so many big faces in European Countries.


Calling Messi the 'greatest in football' with all these flaws is a disrespect to Pele and Maradona who have won everything for their club and country. If you want to inscribe your name to be the greatest in the game, you have to outdo everyone consistently. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored seven goals this season for United without a single penalty. Messi playing in a more complete team has been unable to score goals.


I don't want to be skeptical about Messi's current situation in the PSG team. However, are we supposed to overlook the fact that Messi is struggling at this club? Without him, the French side is always winning all their games in the league. Clearly, Messi does not fit in the system of PSG. Cristiano Ronaldo prevailing in any league he finds himself hasn't been talked about enough. If we infer Messi to be the greatest in football, What then should we call Cristiano Ronaldo?


It's apparent that Messi and Ronaldo both share this stage of football. None is greater than the other, both of them are unique and spectacular in this game.

Copa has always been trash, only messi fans promote it, and messi can never win world cup. South American teams cannot win the world cup, if they even get to the semis then it would be a miracle

South American teams are trash so the competition is trash as well, facts don't lie. If u like keep on lying and decieving yourself. The past world cups have shown that Europe owns football. In the past 40 yrs , South American teams hv only appeared in the semifinals 8 Times and final 5 times and won it 3 times. European teams on the other hand have appeared in the semi finals 32 times, the final 14 times and have won it 7 times...infact they have won the last 4 editions. Only 3 different South American teams have appeared in the semi final in the past 40 years Uruguay Argentina Brazil, while over 13 European nations have appeared in the semi final same period Italy Germany Poland France Belgium England Bulgaria Sweden Holland Croatia Turkey Portugal Spain .
