I will let you in on a secret. Ojukwu failed because he had no appeal to the outside world. A lot of people outside Nigeria didn't know how bad the war was. It was only when the images of children suffering from malnutrition and other tragedies reached them that there was pressure for peace. Nowadays, a lot people know how bad Nigeria is. Wrong reportage.

Instead the northern elders are suing for the court to interpret whether or not self determination can be legal in Nigeria.

They want a court to rule self determination illegal in Nigeria, despite the fact that Nigeria signed up for self determination in all the documents from the UN and Africa Union.
