Cubana Chief Priest, the Nigerian socialite, has kicked against the detention of Obi Cubana, the Abuja-based business mogul, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft commission had on Monday grilled the 46-year-old nightlife promoter for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The development has continued to elicit different reactions, as many Nigerians registered their views on social media platforms.

Joining the fray in a post via his Instagram page on Tuesday, Cubana Chief Priest demanded the release of his friend and former boss, using the hashtag #FreeObiCubana.

The Instagram celebrity also claimed that the Igbos are used to getting such treatment from the Nigerian government.

“What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. We Igbos are used to this, Mbakala ga ama ozo mana ozo ga ala. #FreeObiCubana,” he wrote..

Obi Cubana, whose real name is Obinna Iyiegbu, became a viral sensation after he buried his mother, who died in December last year, in grand style.

The entrepreneur has featured in comedy skits and snagged numerous recognition.

He had earlier revealed why he threw a lavish funeral ceremony in honour of his late mother and also defended his open display of wealth.

His case comes about a year after the police also detained Cubana Chief Priest over alleged misuse of escorts and unexplained wealth.

May thunder fire cubana chief priest for involving igbos in obi cubana case, useless set of people.
How many times have this fat idiot said something about what Nigeria army is doing in East?
How many times did he and obi cubana use their platform to call out the killings and bad roads in East? They were busy showing off expensive trips but now want to involve igbos in their case.
Obi cubana should answer his case and leave Igbo out of it, useless forsaken people.

Typical fucktards! Always taking refuge in ethnic baiting in order to play the victim just to feed into their persecution delusions. For anyone who thinks the Fulani bigot in Aso Rock is bad, just let an Eboe become the President of this country and see ethnic bigotry on steroid. Any criticism of such Eboe President will always be reduced to "Igbo hate" but these emotionally immature people.

If this is the case ,then Nigeria only needs a referendum to end it woes , i still don't understand why the hate induced hypocrisy and the desire for one Nigeria

Stupid. He should answer for whatever they are inviting him for. I haven’t heard him speak about the evil Nigerian government is doing in the East.
Like someone said, I am glad it is affecting the elites, the percentage of people asking for Biafra keeps growing everyday.

Tranquility in a country that is beset by chaos driven by economic decline and retrogression is a hypocritical and fake tranquility.
